Bros,
You're using one player to generalize the whole squad

What can you say of these guys?

@ Sunset, am not using one player to generalize. Lets look at ourselves and tell ourselves the bitter truth. The questions is, will 80% of these lads still be in active football in 10 years time when the oldest of them is 30 years ? only time shall tell. Wait a minute, unlike the current flying eagles, I love the genuine youthfulness of Coach Manu Garba's U-17 Golden Eaglet. Please see why I love the eaglet.

Yobo’s problem is easy to analyze. His name is Omeruo. You don’t have to be a genius, just a normal guy like me to understand that we’re talking about frustration. It’s not easy for a player to see how he’s outperformed by a 19 year-old kid, but the kid is fantastic. I had the courage to play him and the problem is very simple.

That is the more reason I feel we have an hidden intention, notice something, all our players at this competition are neatly shaved, and that has been the case of our past youth team in previous competition. Those lads of other countries whom you said keep their beards like osama, are genuinely youthful and dont need to fake youthfulness. Even the psychology of a player could to a reasonable tell if one is youthful. A case like this was when our U-17 lad Kelechi Iheanacho scored his third goal (Hat trick) against Congo in the just concluded U-17 AYC, even the way he was celebrating his goal and catching fun by juggling the ball in his head, made a commentator to say the guy is "Celebrating his goal like a lad".

We know ourselves as black people, we know how a player that is 20 years and below should behave and look like. We should be bold to look at our face and tell ourselves, and accept the bitter
truth. For me nothing in this world would convince me that players like, Kayode, Egbedi, Ajagun, Gero, Agbo, Osuchukwu, Okani, etc. are below twenty years old.

A highly respected ex international, lawyer, and one time chairman of Sharks FC, once said that Kayode once went for trials with Sharks FC of port-harcourt in 2002 alongside with Fortunate Chukwudi. The Sharks feeders team at that time was meant for young school leavers whom are ages between 18-20 years.

11years after, such a player is still in our U-20 flying eagles. Not even the outburst from such a respected man could stop him. I heard expected the NFF to have investigated this, but they all maintain a deaf ear.

We might think we cheating other nations, but the greatest undoing is ourselves, the Super Eagles which suffers most, as we have seen the fate which befell the Yemi Tellas Eaglet of 2007.

Anyway I wish the flying eagles all the best of luck. But is this a team for the future ? only time shall tell.

...my friend, no one is disputing age cheat in Nigerian youth system, after all we don't have good record keeping. Youths suppose to start playing (organized) football from say, age 6 in their localities, elementary, junior high school, and by the time they get to senior high school the individuals will be well known by peers and onlookers and coaches. Records will back them all. But sadly, we don't have such, as most national youth players don't even pass thru 'san six' so no one can tell. It's just the culture of get rich quick in our society.

My beef about age thing here on CE is when people say "he don't LOOK this or that". Looks don't tell age, even mannerism/behavior varies from culture to culture. Here in the in the west (especially yanky) under age girls pass for adult almost every time. For boy you can really tell when in close proximity to them, how they talk and pay about.

Especially here in Yankee!! Have you seen the college basketball players or better still football players?!! Those kids are supposed to be 18 yo and they look older than me. You can't go just by look...there are some people who perpetually get carded because they look younger than they truly are too.

Just when you think you've heard it all, CE ageologists always find a new way to outdo themselves. First, NOT all FE players are clean shaven (Okani, Ajagun, Osuchukwu, Eduok and even Kayode, just off the top of my head, spot their little goaties). Nevertheless, can you please inform us of why many SE (or even Spanish or English) players are similarly clean shaven? Perhaps, the likes of Enyeama and Emenike (or even Xavi) are trying to "fake youthfulness". SMDH. Dude, shaving (whether it is of the head, sideburns, beard, or even down below) is simply a personal GROOMING choice.
