Could also be a case of the meaningless third place game syndrome. I watched the France Germany game and that french team outplayed germany the whole game. Germany just absorbed waves of attack and sucker punched them.

I usually don't like watching our girls play because a lot of times, they "simply" kick the ball to anywhere they faced.
