Watford & Chelsea stars hang out with an inspiring disabled Nigeria fan at training

Video footage was recorded at Nigeria’s training camp this week of Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel hanging out with a special boy. Abubakar Haruna Gurugu is a 15-year-old lad, who cannot walk.

Instead, the teenager, who is a huge Super Eagles supporter, moves around using his arms and legs.

According to Goal.com, it was a Watford striker who first paid attention to the lad this week:

It was striker Odion Ighalo who first took interest in the lad before Abubakar then turned his charms on captain John Obi Mikel. Mikel and the young man spoke for almost five minutes about Friday’s game among many other topics while seated on the tartan tracks of the stadium.

Abubakar Haruna Gurugu has also spoken to the football website, revealing what he discussed with the players:

I wasn’t happy about the draw. How can Egypt draw Nigeria in Kaduna!

The report tails off claiming that Ighalo swapped phone numbers with the boy, while Mikel pledged to offer assistance to the family.
