NAIJASPORTSXTRA.BLOGSPOT.COM can inform that the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) has notified its Nigerian counterpart that they will be willing to take part in late Stephen Keshi's funeral.
Keshi who qualified the Hawks of Togo to their first even World Cup in Germany in 2006 died of a suspected heart failure on Wednesday in his Benin City residence. The FTF boss, Col Guy Akpovy in his tribute to the 'Big Boss' and letter sent to the Nigeria Football Federation expressed his "great emotion and his sincere condolences to the family and the NFF.
In the letter, "For us Togolese, Stephen keshi is one of ours. He was an ex-coach of the national team and qualified Togo for the first time in its history for the final phase of the FIFA World Cup in Germany 2006."
Akpovy, also expressed the wish of the FTF, that they be informed by the Glass House in Abuja of the funeral programme of late Keshi, so they can make their own provisions too.
Recall the 'Big Boss' was given the Togolese highest national honour and citizenship after the feat.

If you think what Keshi achieved you will be moved emotionally. This guy was a pioneer in more ways than one. It is only now that many people are beginning to understand what he did!
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

It shows we need to revisit our book of love for one another and common decency in Nigeria.

To be honest my dear prof, that is the way of mortals...especially amongst his own. Even the good book mentions that prophets are not honored in their own country. I hope for God's sake NFF have a flag and it is flying at half mast. And secondly i hope they are getting ready to name a stadium after him, if not in Abuja then definitely in Delta state. But i dont trust our peopleEnugu II wrote:Bros Oloye, oloye wrote:Now this brings me close to tears....Sir V wrote:Togolese FA to bury late Keshi

Class act by the Ghana FA.
"How can someone qualify his country for the World Cup and then, because he lost a match, everyone is saying they should sack him. Please allow the man to do his work. Nobody is perfect, but if someone can qualify his country for the World Cup, then he deserves some respect. I even heard that it is the second time he has qualified Nigeria for the World Cup. That is huge". - French legend Alain Giresse on Nigeria's Shuaibu Amodu, 2010
