Next season is almost aupon us and we will see how good Chris really is at his new club. That excuse that CCC played him out of position doesn't wash because footballers should be fexible. Kanu played midfield for Ajax and midfield for Nigeria when we played England in Wembly. Yobo used to be a striker has played midfield. right back and now is a center half. Victor Ikepemba was a left winger for Monaco was used as a left winger for Nigeria and later as a Striker. I could go on but the fact remains that I am yet to see Chris play well for Nigeria. Even in the Unity cup I was left disappointed not only with him but with the entire midfield. The Paul guy was a persistant fouler and the lest said about Olofojo the better. Thank God we will have an opportunity to see Chris do his thing in Europe it is in our interest that he does well.

Chris has been doing his thing in Europe for the past couple seasons. He is not just starting. Yet, he is still too lazy a baller in my opinion.

Ikpeba perhaps.
Chris has actually been a starter for most of his time in the Serie A. However, winning a starting spot with Udinese will be a bigger challenge because he is up against very good players for starting spots. I don't think there is any disagrement as to his potential. He can win a starting spot on the team. He needs to improve his workrate tho.

Gotti, as i have said several times, u seem an angry fellow, and insist on taking us away from the issue. I know what u want. U want me to get angry at ur comments and then attack you , so that we will then throw insults back and forth. But it wount happen. I want us to discuss the issue at hand. The issue, which is- Is it not true that Obodo was unable to showcase his actual talents becus he was played out of position?Gotti wrote:Dude, you don't know jack about me...kaycee2g wrote:i know u are an angry person...
But I can see how Murinho's stool sampler would think that about my Huth question!![]()

p.s- Mind You i am not castigating CCC for playing Chris out of position(like he did Utaka), becus every coach has the right to make what ever decision he feels is appropriate.
That may be YOUR issue...kaycee2g wrote:The issue, which is- Is it not true that Obodo was unable to showcase his actual talents becus he was played out of position?
But that is yours alone.
I noted to AYO that Obodo's issues extends to club level...
You barged in to call me a liar, and I quickly put the lie to your lie.
You have now started blathering on about 'out of position'...
And my response is what concerns anyone with overload?!
Btw, Obodo may play a little deeper at club level, but it is substantively a similar CM role....
And Utaka has more often than not played in the same RM/RW for Lens as he does for Nigeria.

PS: And a little word of advice...
Stop dabbling in amateur psychology. My reference to Murinho's use of Huth was the IDENTICAL point that you sought to make about Chukwu's use of Obodo. And the twisted fallacy of fabricating imaginery "anger" rather than addressing that substantive point is an obtuse appeal to base emotionalism over rationality.

I think Obodo and Oruma are exactly the type of dynamic central midfielders that Nigeria has been lacking recently. Obodo isn't a "destroyer' type of defensive midfielder but is more of a "two way" midfielder and would be ideally suited to play in a 5 man midfield.
While I am very impressed with John Mikel Obi and think he has a great future ahead of him, remember he did so well playing against fellow U-20 players. He really isn't too tested at the professional level. A player like Obodo, on the other hand, is a proven performer in Serie A. While I think Obi should be called in to the Super Eagles, he certainly isn't guaranteed a starting role and may not yet be ready to play at the senior level. Obodo, however, I think can start for the SE.
This is the lineup I'd pick if I was coaching the Super Eagles:
------------------------------Enyeama--------------------------
---------Enakarhire----------Yobo---------Olajengbesi------
Odiah---------------Yusuf----------Obodo--------------Taiwo
----------------------------------Okocha-------------------------
-----------------------Utaka-----------------Martins------------
Alternatively I'd drop Olajengbesi, move Odiah and Taiwo to the backline, use Utaka as the right wing in a 4-4-2 and move Aghahowa to forward to play alongside Martins.
