Leverkusen did not set a record (neither did Celtic between 1915 and 1917). The longest unbeaten streak was 104 matches by Steaua Bucharest between 1986 and 1989.

More recently. 2 Nigerian players (George and Kanu) were part of the Ajax team that won the Champions League, reached 2 consecutive Champions League finals, and went an entire season unbeaten.

"62 games between 1915 and 1917 is the outright record for a European club, although that only included domestic league matches."

That is still a league record.
The record people are talking about includes Uefa competitions.
A record was set.

Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

That streak did not include European cups. They lost games in the European Cup in 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, which cut short any such record.wiseone wrote: ↑Tue May 21, 2024 3:17 am Leverkusen did not set a record (neither did Celtic between 1915 and 1917). Leverkusen's record uncludes all competitions.

Alonso is doing too much. Even Pep when he had Aguero and now Haaland, he played a striker regularly. This one that Alonso is doing playing without a recognized striker is just oversabi to me.
