Yes he is. I'd also add Iwobi in the mix.

Do you remember when almost this entire forum was hating on Lookman ?

They said he was useless and shouldn't be on the team.

Well he came good at afcon and was our best player along with Ekong.

I have been shrining Lookman for 5 years.
Give it a rest! He was called out when he wasn't not playing well for the SE but his Atalanta exploits (he has been excellent for them since he moved there) has always been praised. Nobody wished death or injury on him.

Big move in the summer is definitely on the cards.

Obviously not fully fit. I hope Finidi is watching and not thinking of starting him against South Africa
If you watch Boniface closely for the whole 90 minutes even before his injury, this is how he plays. Yes, he gets crucial goals but his overall play is always disjointed and he gives the ball away too much. I said it on another thread 2 weeks ago and I was called names. I hope he gets his act together before the beginning of next season if he doesn’t want to end up on the bench.

Congratulations to Demola Lookman.
What a performance.
Always a joy to see a player grow.
He has come a long way.
Bros game is on a different level. His confidence, too, is on another level.

Happy and proud of his accomplishments.

Sometimes losing a Final helps you win the next final. I am sure he learnt something on a personal level about what to do to take it over the line. Secondly, I don't think he should rush to go the EPL. Frankly the EPL is overrated. You learn more in the Italian league than the EPL. It's more technical. The only plus side of the EPL is that you make more money and you get more attention. Regardless of whether he stays or leaves, I pray that he makes the right decision

Make we no underate Gasperini at all for this win, the man played Loserpool this same way and today was no fluke,

this was well planned and executed . Congrats to the champs.

Nahh he is fit. Dude needs to shape up. Too lazy for my liking.
I agree Boniface comes off as super talented but lazy.

Ademola Lookman better bring this (new found) ruthlessness against South Africa and Benin Rep in the World Cup qualifiers

Maybe the others who are dithering can learn from Lookman. Playing for Nigeria will not hinder their careers.

Atalanta, Lookman MVP in Dublin: 'Fantastic game, from first minute to last'

Ademola Lookman, MVP of the final won by Atalanta in Dublin against Bayer Leverkusen, spoke at a press conference after the Europa League victory: "We played a fantastic game, I think from the first minute we had a fantastic game and in the second half we kept pushing. We won this way."

Since you decided to play with Nigeria, your career has taken off...
"It's unbelievable, I think I said that in some previous interviews. The support I receive at home from my people is incredible, it gives me the motivation and inspiration I need to try to grow in different areas, not only with regard to football but also the person. Unfortunately in January we lost in the final, but the support was incredible."

What didn't work in Germany and is working in Bergamo?
"I believe that in the last two years the club and the coach have supported me, in giving me minutes and encouraging me to play the attacking football that the club wants, which is good for me. We played great football, I'm happy with the experiences I had in the past, which helped me get to this level."

The best quality of Gasperini?
"His intensity, from workouts to conversations you have with him. You understand the expectations he has in you, I started thinking about football differently from the first time I talked to him. I'm really grateful to him, he did so much for me and the club, I'm grateful to him."

What has the city of Bergamo given you in recent years?
"I've been in a great relationship with the fans since I arrived. The city of Bergamo gives me calm, it is a very relaxed city and this has helped me in my way of life, as well as in football development. It made everything easier for me."

How would you describe Leverkusen's defense tonight?
"It's a top team, we respect them a lot for what we've done this season. As we approached this game we expected what they did, we were very prepared and we played a great game."

As a child, would you have imagined an evening like this?
"Yes, probably yes. I have always had great confidence in my qualities, in my ability to create opportunities for my teammates and score goals. In the last two seasons I think I've done it, maybe it could have arrived earlier but it arrived tonight: I'm happy with my progress, it's just the beginning. I hope to live other nights like this."

Have you heard of anyone from your family yet?
"It's a big part of my success and my history: they helped me become the man I am today, to grow following clear moral values. I love them, really."

00.11 - Lookman's press conference concluded.

I don't know man, looking back with the benefit of hindsight, was his uselessness down to poor coaching?

Will Finidi resolve his beef ?

Or will he continue the trend of former player coaches who think they are bigger and more important than any player on the team, and work from their ego.
