Confirmation of how tough the Falcon's group was

Post by Adisboy »

The Super Falcons were so unfortunate to be in that Group C with Spain, Japan & Brazil. "Weak" Brazil eliminated the hosts France, Japan took US to extra time, while Spain eliminated a very stubborn Columbia on penalties. From what i have seen so far in these Olympics, US & Spain are clearly the best teams in the tournament after that is Japan. It was only wishful thinking for us to believe we can qualify ahead of these teams but to be fair to us we created enough chances to get something from Spain & Brazil if we were clinical. We will need to build on this experience to get even better. I don't think we are very far from the very to of the women's game.

make peaceful change impossible make violent change inevitable.

"It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the--if he--if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not--that is one thing. If it means there is none, that was a completely true statement....Now, if someone had asked me on that day, are you having any kind of sexual relations with Ms. Lewinsky, that is, asked me a question in the present tense, I would have said no. And it would have been completely true."

... but what, Ohenhen1? Please don't say it is 'organization,' because we have sang such like a song over the years and to date, nothing has changed

Funny thing was that our best chance of victory was against Spain where we wasted 3 or 4 1 v 1 against their keeper!

I rather suspect it's actually to sell us on how loftily we should regard Coach Randy...

Just glad they're still Nigerians like Coach Rena and the D'Tigress who don't look at their group opponents and think it's "only wishful thinking" to believe they can emerge from their group ahead of #3-ranked Australia and #5-ranked Canada. SMH

Strangely enough the Falcons are following a similar trajectory to the D'Tigress as in their return to the Olympic games in 2020 after a 16 year absence they lost all 3 group games but look at them now, with a team of 95% made up of foreign born players and a coach (US born Nigeria) based in the US. The Falcons are just small margins from the top and that margin is fixing the attack. Once sorted we can play anyone. No Nigerian based coach currently can get us there. The good thing is the conveyor belt from this year's U20 & U17 World Cups should cough out new talent. Expecting Imuran, Sabastine, Onyenezide, Ajakaye, Bello, etc to have break out competitions & seasons. I expect us to do as well as the D'Tigress in 2028, if the NFF sticks with the current program. If they choose to let Waldrum go, the'll need to get a top class women's coach to continue the program.
