I
wobi makes a team better but individually his game is not the type that can force his will on the opponent to score or create. I think the coaches that get the best out of him have a clearly defined role for him to play in the offense that enhances the team’s chances of scoring. No matter what we think of his pedigree, Iwobi is one of the best players I’ve seen at playing to instructions. He goes out there and does what the coach instructs him to do, he’ll even add extra defensive jara on top.

The problem with SE is that we just put him out there and ask him to create. To be the No 10/ AM by making plays and creating chances for attackers. He can do it but that’s not his best attribute. You have to create an offensive structure that includes Iwobi, not for him to create the offense.
More of a system player, but very average at best to be candid

In his position at club level, he should score more. A midfielder in his position ALWAYS needs to chip in with goals from midfield.

There's nothing to say about Iwobi in the SE. Without a professional coach, there's really nothing to say...except continue to hope on the Aladura prayer warriors :winking:

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

The amount of rubbish that flies on these pages is mind-boggling. How many active SuperEagles players have scored more goals than Iwobi besides Osimhen and Iheanacho? To be clear, see the stats of key active players below:

Player Appearances Goals

Osimhen———————39——————23
Iheanacho——————57——————15
Iwobi——————-——83———-———10
Simon———————--72—————-—-9
Lookman——————-27—————-—-8

Anyone advocating that any of the above players be phased out now is a fool. I can only hope that our coaches are not as retarded as some of you guys🤔❗️

Cheers.

I think this is worth looking at in timeframe. How many has Iheanacho scored in the last 4 years?

Stop being lazy and do the research… OK, I’ll help you out:

Year Apps Goals
2015 1 0
2016 6 4
2017 7 4
2018 11 0
2020 4 1
2021 9 2
2022 6 1
2023 6 3
2024 7 0
Total 57 15

There you go. That’s 6 goals in the last 4 years… and note that this doesn’t include his AFCON semi-final winning penalty against South Africa🤔❗️

6 goals on 28 matches is poor. And none in 7 this year just tells it all. He is on the decline, for both club and country.

And if you go back 6 years, that’s 7 goals in 43 matches. And his overall play has been poor too.

There’s my problem with you tribalists. How many have done better? How many minutes has he actually played in the 7 games? The fact is he has a much better record than those who have played 4 or 5 times as many minutes… but you selectively pick the stats that favor your biased narrative. Go and hug a transformer, my friend🤔❗️

Wow! This ignorant non entity just called Lolly a tribalist over stats. Is CE now a nationalist football forum? The level of discourse here just keeps getting lower and lower with the likes of Ohenhen as mods and Cellular as site admin. The people that are supposed to maintain a standard of decency are now the insurgents. It’s sad. Nacho’s performance has been debated here without much controversy but now you’re a tribalist for criticizing Nacho. Wow!
