Newcastle ready to close deal with Leverkusen for striker

The Magpies are interested in adding Nigerian International Victor Boniface to their ranks this summer.
AfricaFoot report that Premier League outfit Newcastle United target the transfer of Victor Boniface for the upcoming summer. According to the French language media outlet, Newcastle already underwent negotiations for several weeks with Boniface’s agents and Bayer Leverkusen.

AfricaFoot also noted Leverkusen’s €50 million asking price will not be an issue for the club backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). Boniface was also very close to leaving Leverkusen for Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr in January’s transfer window.

Last season’s sensation endured a difficult campaign at the BayArena. Since his return from injury in 2025, he has only found the back of the net twice in the Bundesliga. Leverkusen are preparing for a major squad overhaul as they will also bid farewell to Xabi Alonso.

Not sure if Newcastle is an upward move from Leverkusen, but with an incoming coach and a few players leaving, not sure what the future championship hopes for Leverkusen are, it’s not as if Newcastle United are high flyers anyway.
I wish the bobo well and hope he makes the right career choice.

Would be a bad move considering Isak isn’t leaving. Man United would be a better move if he wants game time, but they seem infatuated with mediocre Delap.

I doubt this story. And I don’t see how Boniface will fit into Newcastle’s style of play and the EPL.

But the lad needs a change. Injury and loss of form has taken a shine of his good start in the German league.

If they get Champions League, not happening.

And Boniface doesnt fit into Eddie Howe's style.

It will be massive if that happens, but this looks like a fake news. Boniface has said openly in the past that he doesn't even want to play in England. He prefers Germany and Spain. He's already a bench warmer in Leverkusen, I doubt If he'll want to move to a club where he'll continue warming the bench.
I am just and Ordinary guy being used by an extraordinary God.
