What a story!
No wonder controversy about this man has to be concocted.
Very touching and inspiring interview. I really appreciated the raw format and how funny interviewer made Osimhen feel comfortable. The authenticity and honesty that came through made it feel so real for me as an audience. Powerful stuff!

As always, I’m incredibly proud of Osimhen. However, something he said caught my attention, he mentioned that he dropped out of school in SS3 and stopped playing football for two years after that before returning to the game. That does create a bit of a timeline puzzle, because typically, students enter SS3 around the age of 15 or 16, right? If he was inactive for two years after that, he would have been at least 17 by the time he resumed playing. That raises an interesting question, how then was he able to make the 2015 U-17 squad as a 16-year-old?

But it’s also possible that his story, like many athletes from challenging backgrounds, includes moments where timelines blur due to hardship, survival or just memory. The important thing is that his rise remains nothing short of remarkable.
