The report says PSV want to complete signing Rabiu quickly (says they've gone from first gear straight to fourth gear), because as a non-EU player if they sign him now (age 19) his salary will be a certain thing, but if they wait until March 15 when he turns 20 they will have to pay a higher salary. Are these Dutch regulations or UEFA regulations?

Oh ... and fingers crossed that this happens for the lad. Would be interesting if this 40 year journey through the wilderness terminated at a fine club like PSV.

PSV wants to complete quickly transfer Ibrahim
Mar. 5 '11 10:58 by David Kuipers

PSV is in top gear shot the transfer of Rabiu Ibrahim as soon as possible to complete. The Eindhoven club are convinced of the quality of Nigerian talent and the club can act quickly to save money.

"He's quick, technically, are physically fine and he has a sense of position," Fred Rutten lists some strengths of the nineteen year old attacking midfielder on. Brahim, world champion in Nigeria under seventeen in 2007, took place recently during an exhibition game with Telstar, against PSV in Eindhoven in the spotlight.

PSV wants Brahim quickly record, because the costs run from March 15 shoot up. The player is on that day, birthday. "As a player from outside the EU, he nineteen gross earning 264,000 euros. From his twentieth that amount goes up, so you know De Telegraaf."We are the first to fourth gear gone, "says technical manager Marcel Brands.
It's a Dutch league rule to make sure clubs only hire quality foreigners and the league does not get flooded by foreigners (the player must be quality if you're willing to pay a lot of money).

It's comparable to how clubs in the EPL can only hire a player who has consistently featured for his highly ranked national team for 2 years.

Deja vu a fe years ago, i wanted Mikel Obi to join PSV , but he chose Chelsea. Now Rabiu ibrahim could sign with PSV. Just brought back memories about that situation. PSV is a good club for a young player, he should be able to get a lot of playing time to develop his skills and then move on to a bigger club. I am rooting for Rabiu, alot of haters on this site, Rabiu needs our support.

Great news. However Rabiu was injured in the AAG qualifier vs Liberia. So I`ll be surprised if he features this weekend. Hopefully he will see some action before the end of the season.
