As I have said several times on this forum, CIV is overated. People are fooled because lots of their player play for some top europeaen teams. Take out Drogba and CIV becomes another average team. I'm still pained how Eguavon and Berti Vogts decided to play soft and defensive against this team the last 2 times we met. The only way to expose this CIV team is to take the match straight to them. SE can beat this CIV team anytime if we take the game to them. Ask SiaSia how he humbled the much praised 2008 Olympics Team.
They are weak defensively and their midfield is not as solid as they are being taunted. Once Drogba retires from this CIV team, it will become clear how weak they really are

Please shut it. Burkina showed up with no intention of playing whatsoever. Did you watch the two games both teams played before in the qualifiers? Burkina never played with 10 players+goalie at the back like this before...Neva. I am now scared Gabon or whichever other team we play will try and copy them...

You should be the one shutting it. I watched the full 90 minutes of this match and regardless of how B'Nabe played, CIV is overated in my opinion. Qualifiers and tournament are 2 different things my guy. CIV could not score with the several chances they had and should consider themselves lucky that B'Nabe did not convert the late chance they got. Again, take out Drogba and these headless chickens will be exposed like a cheat.

If you had truly watched this game (with an OBJECTIVE mind), you would notice that Gervinoh and Baky were more lethal than Drogba today. Simply put Drogba was almost neutralized by the Burkinabe defence. So I believe they still stand good without Drogba.

As I have maintained, any team will have to keep a constant check on Drogba and once he is marked out of the game, CIV becomes average. What did Gervinho and co do with all the chances they were presented? Nothing. ZIP. The sooner teams start playing timid against CIV, the more they'd be exposed.

Although, Bfaso packed the ball, CIV did notplay to their potential too. If Drogba had converted just one of those freekicks, the match would have become open. All those wasted chances too were unnecessary.

I thought football especially in a major tourney is about strategy, if you're strong you apply your strength, if you're weak you minimize your weakness, which is why I would conclude ,,,shaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrpppppppppp!!!!!!!

kamerunn dont mind these guys, they want to hate on everybody just because our team sucks, imagine they will diss CIV as overrated when they have beaten us twice in back to back ANC's and finished ahead of us in both. They also qualified with ease while we struggled with Kenya and Mozambique at home.
I'll admit CIV were a little off today, but the fact is BFaso is a very good team in AFrica definately top 10 at the moment , perhaps even better than the Tunisian team we struggled against (They did beat them and topped their preliminary group) On top of that BF completely sat back and parked bus. It is very difficult to play teams like this and CIV had little space. Remember BF has already lost twice to CIV conceding 8 goals, u dont think they will have learned not to play open with them. For all hating SE fans, I would love to see what Amodu's clueless SE will do against a bunkering BF team. Remember we struggle to score goals against mediocre teams while CIV usually scores for fun. Some of you fools cannot look at things without bias and your agendas.

You know a good team by all the hate they get. Brazil is hated in S. America but the rest of the world respects them. The English, French and Germans think little about Spain because of the press the rest of the globe gives the Spanish. CIV is believed by most of the world to be the giant of Africa. It is no suprise Nigerians are waiting with crossed fingers to see them fall.
Individually, CIV has the best soccer players in the continent; however, the best team is what prevails. There are no minnows in African soccer anymore. In addition, it is ignorant (and worse so when it comes from internet 'experts') to judge a team solely on its first performance in the tournament. We all saw what Cameroon went through after their first game last ANC only to reach the final. Where were the CIV, Ghana and co that won their first game?
I will make my judgement after the first round.
