Imagine this same Ghana team with the following players on the bench
Asamoah(Juventus)
Muntari (Milan)
Boateng (Schalke)
Schlupp (Leicester)
Duncan(Sampdoria)
Essien (Milan)

What is with Ghanaians and this team B nonsense...........Schlupp was part of the qualifying team and was consistently benched by Baba who is Mileeeeeeeeessssssssss ahead of him

Boateng and Essien are past it and are not part of the team period and will never be part of the team

Yes we are missing 2 of our best midfielders Asamoah (injury) and Muntari (suspension) but that does not qualify this as a B team
Thanks for keeping it real, you guys have built an actual TEAM that fights for each other and plays together without division in the locker room. Enjoying this team well well...

True. This Ghana TEAM is good! If they keep their heads, they will defeat the Ivoriens. Stay disciplined at the back, they already have a good GK. Try to contain Yaya, and dare Gervinho... keep it tight with Bony.

Abedi did not play in that game..........he was suspended after picking up his second yellow of the tournament in the semi final against Nigeria

it was Tony Yeboah who missed chance after chance
Yep, Abedi Pele was suspended after he got booked by the Tunisian ref in that semi-final game versus Nigeria. Yeboah missed chances in the final but it was Prince Polley (the chap who scored the winner against Nigeria) that missed an open goal. Joel Tiehi also missed a 1 v 1 with Edward Ansah in the final seconds of extra-time.

I thought the winner was scored by a certain Frank Amankwah, or do I have everyone mixed up?

You all need to stop the TEAM B nonsense.Essien,Muntari and Boateng will never be asked to play for Ghana again. This Black Stars squad is the real deal and will win the cup on Sunday.

Thought that was Abdei Pele himself, a wicked header off a corner. Or was that the first goal?

It is an all W African finals between two neighboring countries.

They are arguably the two best sides in the continent at the moment, having both beaten the supposed favorites.

They also represent the best footballing region on the continent

Both sides are loaded with quality players from top leagues

The last time one of these sides won the tourney was over two decades ago
Apart from the Algerians, these 2 were the other teams who
deserve to win the trophy at these games. They have both been knocking at
the door the last 4 or 5 nations cups with a number of final and semi-final
appearances between them.

I thought most of the players listed are collecting pension at their various clubs?

Players who couldn't lift the trophy at their prime would now have made a difference now they are a shadow of their former selves? :?
