ukwala wrote: Fri Dec 24, 2021 11:44 am Also I want to believe that teams in richer countries travel by air and are well rested by match time.
I recollect Barcelona having to travel to Milan by road during the volcanic ash cloud in Europe some years back and cited the road trip as the reason for their loss. The road trip from Barcelona to Milan may be longer than the longest road trip in Nigeria but may not be faster because of the bad roads, multiple check points, rickety (almost) buses and general insecurity in Nigeria. Road trips do take their toll on players, fact.
Sorry, but may be faster, in fact is faster and more comfortable. Our teams travel in ‘Toyota Coaster’ type buses (mini-buses) and not in proper coaches popularly called Luxurious buses.
Good 👉 point. It is indeed grueling. For comparison, take a look at the example of trips made by MFM that I mentioned earlier. All but one are longer than the Barcelona trip that you mentioned!

This reminds me of one revelation that most of us fail to realize - forget the political drawing of the globe and maps that we use which make Europe appear larger than it actually is and Africa smaller than it is. Although, this delves into the African continent but I use it to point out that merely looking at Nigeria on a map is deceptive. It is HUGE compared to England! In any case, the for the imagination of the size of the African continent please see Okonjo Iweala's recent mention of this. You can fit the whole of Europe into West Africa! Africa is a huge huge continent and political considerations lead to poor representations on maps drawn but take a look at actual measurement of continent sizes.

Quite revealing.
No wonder the severely overpopulated China is trying to make incursions into Africa❗️

Cheers.

Hmm...it's serious Boxing Day Drama in Enugu and Ibadan.....Finidi George and the People's Elephants have "killed" Flying Antelopes in Enugu. Coach Finito secured a big away win. 1-0 is final score there.

Ar Lekan Salami stadium, Kennedy Boboye and Akwa United are one goal up in Ibadan at the end of first half. Edith Agoye and his boys have another 45 minutes left to redeem themselves before Ibadan fans go crazy on them. Fingers are crossed for redemption hour. See you in the next 60 minutes.

It was a narrow escape for Agoye and his boys....Ended 1-1. Now back to the drawing board, as the boys travel out to Makurdi to face the Lobi Stars on Wednesday !

yes, the pic is from Twitter. It might not have shown on your end if you are on Firefox browser on Mac. However, safari on Mac will show it. Likewise, Firefox on window/PC works fine.

E11: All those teams are contenders, except Abia Warriors. I don't think Imama has found his tactical formula or magic to lead Abia Warriors to the title.

Comrade Ukwala: Coaching is never a problem of Sooting....The problem is largely the management and the "chop-I-chop" folks around the club. If those folks can be at least "60-70 percent" professional and truly work in the best interest of the club and those of the club's fans, rest assured Oluyole Warriors will win the FA cup and the league without a problem.

My concern with 3Sc is just the persistent political wrangling at the board level. If that is solved that club and its fan base deserve much better.

Comrade Toxic, in other words, you need a modern day Chief Lekan Salami to instill some order in the place. It shows the depths to which the country has sunk that such an iconic club is left to flounder.
