You did see him let in the first goal?
A close range shot. You might as well ask him to stop a bullet with his teeth.

We are playing one upfront how come we are still overrun in midfield? Their half Nigerian captain spends more time in on the edge of our 18yard box......which shows no pressure at all.

Agonizing is isolated, Success needs to come in and use his physique, pace and trickery to hassle the German defense.

Now he is a dumb coach all of a sudden. We're u not one of the fools blindly supporting this angel* ?

That was one of the worst halves I have ever seen Nigeria play at any level. Just pathetic.

The good thing is that we have game changers on the bench...

Nice to have a quality bench.

Half time. Very difficult match. Unfortunately, the unforced error by our midfield and back 4 is the biggest bane of this FE team. You cannot trust that they will control the ball and keep it at close length. You cannot trust that they will deliver a simple pass and it will get to its destination. We need to go back to our playing in little triangles and transitioning gradually.

As Oloye (someone who actually knows and played the game professionally), the Germans may tire. But their efficiency is well known. I think Manu should switch from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3 after 60mins bringing in someone at AM that will thread the ball through to Awoniyi. For me, that person has to be Kelechi Iheanacho.

metalalloy wrote:Enaholo has been good. Mustapha def needs some cover at LB as the germans predictably were always going to attack his wing after seeing him struggle against Brazil. We are still in it at 1-0 but if we concede one more we are done.
11 shots to 1 says it all.
Enaholo had a strong ending to the game.
Mustapha isn't doing so badly, but they are targeting him.
Worst offenders are in the middle of the park - too many turnovers by our three midfielders.

You know sometimes its okay to put up our hands and just admit we're playing a better team. No shame in that. These German kids are much better technically. Tackling, passing, striking, heading...three of which Nigerian players take for granted. Then add to that their physical advantage and great tactics and it's an uphill talk for us.
However at 1-0 we can still pull this off.

They had better players is the reason we just dashing balls away even without pressure.

the game need Yahaya.....for Bulbwa, nacho for sokari and success for Awoniyi.....and instruct them to defend. Not guaranteeing anything but those players represent a better goal threat....some of the others guys are putting in a good shift - but to leave those 3 on the bench with the quality they are up against is criminal.....

The keeper has done well so far. It seems the first goal was an error by our keeper

They can only sustain that blitz for about 60mins ,usually the harm is done in those minutes. The secret is to limit the harm,if you can then hit them hard in the last 20 they are usually gassed by then.
They are already gassing...
They will be gassed, the north africans have the same philosophy...the first 30 minuted if you experience those blitz,it will look as if you are clueless,it will look as if your lungs is about to explode and you start wondering how am i going to survive this....then when you are thinking the second half would be the same....the game just peters out. If you cannot contain the early blitz you can be down by 4 goals easily.
Oloye, I hope you are right in this case because at moment, it seems we are clueless
From experience my man,i have been in that situation a couple of times, you are looking for the ball and it appears the ball wont stay still...you are looking for the oppponents they dart about like ninjas.

We need to work on those final balls. We can have the best striker but if we keep passing to the opponent, we aren't gonna score (unless some crazy shot from way outside the 18).

Germans look too comfortable for my liking. Their game is working great, they do not feel pressured.

We need another body in the midfield, Sokari has been piss poor. It does not take a blind man to that the Germans are pressing us. We need speed down the flanks and ball handlers to maintain possession. Possession is 65% advantage to the Germans.
