Re: Mikel & Yobo arguing for $100.000 appearance fee
To be honest both Yobo and Mikel are fools!
Why was the bonus agreement done earlier? Was it done for fun?
How long has this FIFA appearance fee being made public! If Mikel,Yobo or anybody else had any qualms, they should have tabled it a VERY VERY VERY long time ago! Why now? To demonstrate to the world once again, that the black African cannot plan?
I am sorry to say that regardless of what corrupt shenanigans are going on in the NFF, both Joseph Yobo and John Mikel Obi are certified FOOLS!
Joseph Yobo especially! Because he does not even add any value to the team! But that this another argument sha!

Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

Maybe some kind of blackmail logic! Perhaps they think that if they do it earlier, then the Federation have more options....but if they do it last minute, it is some kind of extortion tactic!blaccat wrote:Why are these things always left til the last minute to sort out
Anyway from the players right up to the federation, it is VERY primitive! Clearly money, does not buy some things!

Re: Mikel & Yobo arguing for $100.000 appearance fee
If the players & officials go to the World Cup thinking about the money they will pocket after the first three games they are not ready to qualify to the next round, the tournament hasn't even started & they are fighting over cash, the same pattern the same result!

we need to disband this team honestly.
Re: Mikel & Yobo arguing for $100.000 appearance fee
Spot on. Big boys like Mikel and Yobo earning nothing less than 2million dollars annually can not just focus on the important task ahead and encourage others to get on with the job. Anyway i blame the NFF. I don't know why ours must be like this all the time.marko wrote:Nigerian football is just a reflection of the society at large, you cannot seperate the 2!! What is 100,000?! NFF should pay them their money, period!
I wouldn't be happy if my money is being withheld by some corrupt officials just because they want to spend it on their WAGs.

Why should Mikel and Yobo not demand for their dues even if it is peanut to them? Don't you guys have conscience or at least principles. Real men operate by principles!

At the expense of unsettling the squad prior to a big tournament like world cup? What happened to patriotism?? I never said the should not demand for their bonuses but there is something called timing. England a nation that's knows how to generate money through football without the FIFA payment (which should go into football development) reward their players less than the amount Nigerians lose sleep over before they even board a plane but they don't end upachuzia-the-air-raid wrote:...because others don't treat their players the way they treat ours...xinity wrote:Spot on. They have not said that they are going to sabotage the WC that is the reason they want to hash it out now as oppose to 1998 WC when the team got disorganized at the WC proper.

If have noticed, we have not been following England's lead for quite a while now. Other countries that I know reward their players and that includes USA. True but they have installed a mentality that playing for your country is more rewarding than pennies, when a man slaps a ball into his own net whilst playing for his country you need to watch him closely!achuzia-the-air-raid wrote:If have noticed, we have not been following England's lead for quite a while now.
