Ummm....I'm talking about 2006, where the FFF begged him to come out of retirement and he schooled Brazil with their famed "Magic Quartet" of Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka and Adriano. He literally took an average French side to the finals. France has been $#% ever since he retired.

I still wouldn't call the 2006 side "average". The coach was shite, but they had top quality - Thuram, Abidal, Gallas, Makalele, Vieira, Titi, etc

The facts bear that they were a very average side when he wasn't in the line up. Solid defensively, but couldn't score in a brothel with a fistful of dollars...it's the same problem they've been having since Zidane retired.

Point of correction. No one is saying he is better. What personally I am saying is people are hating for not acknowledging this guy's talent. Ronaldo was a better striker. Cristiano is the 2nd best player of his generation, which is a more than worthy accolade...unfortunately for him, he's playing in the same era as one of the all time greats.
