My dear broda, we all wish the boys well. If they win 7-0 today with Awoniyi scoring 5 goals, I will be the loudest cheerleader. But this is why we have a fan forum. For us to come and discuss and debate. If something something doesn't seem right, we should be able to air it. That does not mean we don't wish well.

All I am saying is simple. I do not think it is a big deal for a player who endured a long flight and arrived 2 days to the first game (playing 90 full minutes) to be allowed a little time to rest and recuperate. I don't see it as "big boy." I see it as common sense. If this is your son who calls you to say he is exhausted and the coach keeps asking him to do more drills, how would you respond?

A few of the Brazilians are first teamers too. I am sure there are many others

Come again? The same guy that is shifting between first team and "B" team? DO YOU KNOW THERE ARE PLAYERS IN THIS COMPETITION THAT PLAYS FOR THEIR FIRST TEAM?

This is how it starts.
You are a joker! name them. Who are the first team La Liga regulars at this WYC? In fact, name the first team starters on ANY team in ANY of the top leagues.
Brazil captain Danillo from SC Braga is a starter and he played his butt off against us, so let's not start with excuses.

From what I understand Isaac Success, Ifeanyi Matthew and Moses Simon are all nursing injuries, so they won't be starting.

The big surprise drops are Musa Yahaya and Kelechi Iheanacho.

Would have liked Nwakali to replace the wastepipe Ifeanyi.

That is why you are a bush boy, how can he to partake in exercises while in his club he takes part in it.

And that is why awoniyi will always be ahead of your boy, because he plays with discipline.

Bro,

I understand where you are coming from. Frankly, I blame Muyiwa. He was very vague in his reporting and things like this do not help the cause of the team out there. The injury story would have been much better received in terms of public opinion. The urge to be a source sometimes has its detriments, and this is one of such times.

The coach is in camp and has the final say because he sees in training and knows his players mentality and ultimately if the team fails he will pay for it and most of these players will not have that much of lasting effect, so I think the coach should get the benefit

however as an outsider watching Success was by far the best player on the NIgerian team followed by Yahaya.

I watched as an "indiser" and I saw what you saw as well. Anyway, the team should be able to get past N. Korea.

I'm surprised Yahaya has been dropped - arguably our best player against Brazil. No surprise about Iheanacho though - he did not have a good game. May have been a toss up between Awoniyi and Success. Perhaps attitude made it easier for Manu to choose?

Taiwo Awoniyi will go on to become a regular Super Eagles player and an excellent striker.

Isaac Success will become the Nigerian Ricardo Quaresma. Age-grade phenomenon fizzling into an also-ran player because of a poor attitude.

The truth is he didn't have the lungs to fall back and defend, not that success or even Awoniyi did any better. I really believe he could have proved much more useful upfront.

It's good this happened now and not later, as much as I love Manu it's clear to anyone who understand soccer that we were out coached this time. 2 midfielders vs 4 with 2 rampaging fullbacks is a no brainer.
This will make them stronger.
I wonder why some CEs are making a big deal out of Nacho's reaction when he was to be taken off. Obviously, he was disappointed but he quickly composed himself and hugged the in coming player. It was obvious that he was not happy with his own display.
I am happy

Success is a baller. His future at club and international level is very bright. He will live up to his name Success.

So he keeps the culprits from the first game namely Enaholo, Mustapha, and Ndidi. Manu is starting to resemble Keshi. mschew.

KPOM.

I was willing to give this guy a chance but this is an idiotic move.

You are playing a weak opponent, why not let ur main guys use this as a match to gain confidence and hit their stride.

Yet this fool of a coach retains the one player who actually deserved to be dropped. That basket goalkeeper.

He is scapegoating our future SE prospects for his own stupid mistakes. My respect for this guy has gone very far down if this lineup is true. What a stupid over reaction.

Perhaps they were not doing enough to help prevent the opponent from scoring against their team?

So u play an attacking game vs Brazil, and a more cautious game against Korea who were raped 5-1. MAKES LOTS OF SENSE.

^^
It is the Nigerian mentality that has killed the SE. The idea to play "hungry" homebased players ahead of the obviously more talented foreign based. The theory is that they will "hustle" better. This was the excuse that led to SE being filled with Junk. We will still win with this lineup, but I expect 2-0 at best.
