 It became the CL in 1992. Is that modern enough for you, or does modern start in the 2000s? If you judge Bayern by the CL alone and not include the European Cup, their "history" is not that "rich". Unless you mean "rich" in Zimbo dollars. :taunt:

His greatest achievement at Buy-earn was winning the league in December...or was it February?

And that was no biggie considering the players he brought in.

Pep's Bayern got walloped 4-0 by Madrid and also got beat by Barcelona the next season.
The Bayern of a season or 2 prior was the one dishing out 4-0s to Barcelona and reaching 2 CL Finals in a row, something that Pep's version has so far failed to do.
So there's a case for what Kajifu said especially when we are judging against the best in Europe in CL.

I think he's the best coach in the world. Bayern Munich thinks so too. With all that said, if he doesn't win the UCL, his time in Germany would have been a failure. That's the truth.

All those of you who questioned me when I took issue with Guardiola, I hope you can all see now I was right. Gradual himself has apologised proving my point beyond doubt.

Fair play to Guardiola, he realised his mistake and has apologised. Classy.

Pep Guardiola apologises for speculation about his Premier League future

• Coach’s next job expected to be in England after exit from Bayern Munich
• Manchester City, United and Chelsea said to be interested in Spaniard

Pep Guardiola has apologised if his public statements that he would like to move to the Premier League next season have put pressure on any managers in England’s top flight.

The Bayern Munich manager announced in December he would be leaving the German club at the end of the season and confirmed that, for his next job, he would like to manage a club in England. This has led to speculation that Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in the Spanish coach. The two Manchester clubs have permanent managers in situ, leading some to suggest it would have been better if Guardiola had kept his plans to himself.

Speaking in Doha, where Bayern are on a training camp, Guardiola took the chance to apologise.

“I am sorry,” he said. “Normally, in my career as a trainer, as a player, I respect a lot my colleagues, so I am sorry. It wasn’t my intention.”

Guardiola was then pressed on which club he would like to end up at next season but he refused to be drawn, telling reporters his only focus for the remainder of this season was on Bayern’s chase for domestic and European honours.

I don't think it changes anything. He's apologizing because of heated newspapers writing bait-click articles to disparage his timing and again as before he's been forced to respond to those articles. Logically, none of what he did was wrong or disrespectful.
