Suspension of the Nigeria Football Federation

Post by Bigpokey24 »

The FIFA Emergency Committee decided today, 4 October 2010, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect on account of government interference.

This decision follows the latest events linked to the NFF, such as the court actions against elected members of the NFF Executive Committee preventing them from exercising their functions and duties, the stepping down of the acting NFF General Secretary on the instructions of the National Sports Commission, the decision of the Minister of Sports to have the Nigerian League start without relegation from the previous season, and the fact that the NFF Executive Committee cannot work properly due to this interference.

The suspension will be maintained until the court actions have ceased and the duly elected NFF Executive Committee is able to work without any interference.

During the period of suspension, the NFF will not be able to be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, and also not in friendly matches. In addition, neither the NFF nor any of its members or officials can benefit from any development programme, course, or training from FIFA or CAF while the federation remains suspended.

Make it clear...

Nigeria is banned from playing football meaning we automatically lose our next qualifier and, are out of the next ACN!

Plenty of blame to go around. Maigari for rushing the NFF elections, which was highly selfish on his part. Bio for being power hungry. More the fault of Bio that anybody but plenty of blame to go around. The suspension means that the game on Sunday is off, and we are potentially out of the ANC in 2012 and 2013.

Anyway sha, this was a long time coming. The NFF fraudsters have been getting away with corruption for almost 2 decades.....Mikel must be happy now....he doesn't have to feign injury

This is BS. Nigerians have the sovereign right to sue the NFF.

In Uganda, when FIFA threatened, private citizens sued the FA forcing the old guard out.

FIFA was then forced to work with the government in selecting a normalization committe.

Like the good advice says , be careful what you wish for, so this is easy 3 points for Guinea. Good job GEJ for allowing your office to be dragged into a mess by clueless parasites.

What has GEJ got to do with the court case?

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

I think it's about time we nigerians stopped being stupid and asked FIFA to get lost!

If FIFA thinks the incompetent likes of Maigari who manipulated the sham called elections should represent the face of nigerian football while nigerian football continues the steepy slope to death, then Sepp Blatter can go and hang his fat swiss neck on a strong tight rope from a good height without support.

Suspension from FIFA wll help both parties ie FIFA and Nigeria to address their priorities. The success of nigerian football should be the priority of all genuine folk, not fools like Maigari and Blatter.

Again, what has all that got to do with the court case which directly led to the suspension?

Bio giving directives for the NPL to start and for relegated teams to survive relegation is clear govt interference. And deserving of a ban, Bio is a really stupid man.

Correct me if am wrong, but I thought Bio 'brokered' a deal which led to the decision on relegation and thus the withdrawal of court cases?

Does fifa actually understand this phrase?
TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED...
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding...hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

The guy gave directives to the NFF to force them to kick start the NPL season. That is interference.
