Well Rooney has come along in the last year or so despite his recent dip in form. Prior to that he was massively overrated. Kaka and Gerrard are probably the two most overrated players of the past decade.

All three have won the Champions League within those 10 years. As for Rooney and Kaka, several other championships too. How could they then be overrated?

Rooney was sidelined by injury and needs time to get back to form.

Kaka was even World Best player in 2007. Just 3 years ago.

How can Gerrard be over-rated? Led Liverpool to the CL and FA Cup, was actually one of the best CMs in the world at his peak, was pretty good for England. Only recently has his form dipped but he's generally delivered the goods. Look at how many good CL campaigns he had compared to Lampard. He has scored a ton of CL goals while Lampard has generally been crap in the CL.

Kaka has been over-rated lately but he was excellent for AC Milan for several years. Unfortunately he also failed to live up to the hype in the 06 and 2010 WCs. Also hasnt delivered on Real Madrid (not yet anyways...has had injury problems). I dont consider him to be over-hyped but at the moment he's living on past glory because he hasnt been great for about 2-years now.

Wayne Rooney...before last year he never scored more than 16-goals in a Premiership campaign. Before last year he was never Man Utd's best player and yet he was viewed as the face of the club even when players like Ronaldo were out-performing him.

Robinho...what has this guy done to deserve all this hype and attention? Yes he is fast, explosive and can dribble but he's been a chronic underachiever for years now.

Ibrahimovic...biggest attitude in football and yet has rarely delivered, especially in big matches

Lampard...has scored a ton of goals against weak clubs like Derby County but has rarely done anything in the CL nor do much for England.

Sergio Ramos...Great at attacking but often leaves his flank exposed on defense. It appears though he has improved defensively in the last few months under Mourinho.

Gonzalo Higuain...misses way too many chances.

Ramos and Higuain should not be on the list.
Higuain is not that rated anyways and Ramos is pure quality.

I agree concerning Ibrahimovic, I just don't understand why he is generally considered World Class.
