Ochoa Concedes. Enyeama Last Goalie Standing

Post by Riversboy »

Nice run from Ochoa.

I'm glad Croatia broke through, though I wanted them to win and go through.

Enyeama stands alone.

Way to go Enyeama.

PS. Did you just say you wanted Croatia to go through?

The last time he faced them at the World Cup, he damn near pulled it off.

Aha, I see.

Well sorry Mate, I wanted Mexico to win because they are the best team in Group A thus far.

No doubt, they were the best. They should have even beaten Brazil. If I didn't have a personal rooting interest, I would've supported them as an Arizona boy.

Even Messi knows he's up against it with Enyeama in goal.

In fact that might make things even easier for Enyeama...because of the psychological aspect! There are some players that always miss, when the take penalties against the same keeper! Some guys that can never score in a certain ground etc. So psychology is real!

When Messi sees Enyeama, he may very well have vengeance on his mind, but he might over think things; doing too much, taking shots too quickly...making rash errors etc.

Enyeama on the other hand, lives for such momenets! While arm chair analysts may cower upon sight of the diminutive Argentinian, Enyeama will actually cherish the opportunity!

I feel that psychologically, Enyeama has a better shot than Messi.
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

I mean, kudos to Mexico and all, but they were not better than Brazil. Sure, Brazil has been underwhelming, and Mexico has performed better than expected, but Brazil was still the best team in the group.

Pleasantly happy that we are still the only team without a goal conceded from the first two games

Stat that would keep England in Brazil :)

And we are playing against a Qualified Argentina come tomorrow

Word on the street is that they are coming in hard for this game.. Messi to start

to ensure we don't evade France in the next round

this is on the assumption we qualify

but another set of clean sheets will keep us ticking forward

Technically speaking Enyeama conceded a goal to Dzeko. But that's a different story.

It is a tragedy that Croatia went out after the scandalous refereeing display in their opening game against Brazil. Have to feel for them. Mexico and Croatia deserved to advance from that group. Cameroon should donate money to charity as penance for their "performance" in this World Cup.

Technically he did not, because technically it's only a goal if the ref calls it.
