Kelechi did not make the tour. See the full 23 man squad list from City's website below. Unless my eyes are playing some tricks on me, I do not see Kelechi's name.

Richard Wright, Willy Caballero, Joe Hart*, Micah Richards, Dedryck Boyata, Karim Rekik, Gael Clichy, Matija Nastasic, Aleks Kolarov, Jason Denayer, Javi Garcia, Fernando, James Milner*, Jack Rodwell, Jesus Navas, Scott Sinclair, David Silva*, Yaya Toure*, Emyr Huws, Samir Nasri, Stevan Jovetic, Edin Dzeko*, John Guidetti

Kelechi supposed to make Keshi's 32 man squad. Unfortunately, Keshi didn't find him an attractive option since he's already gotten a contract  Let me hear anyone refers to Keshi as a coach one more time....the man is a fulltime business man.

Stephen Keshi converted the Super Eagles camp into a business centers where the likes of Babatunde Michael, Gabriel Rueben, Agbim etc come to find buyers :taunt:

Ok so i also read on another blog that kele had made their preseason tour squad but it made ZERO sense to me because he hasn't been training with the 1st team during pre-season. He also didn't make their preseason tour squad to Scotland. Somehow blogs and other sites have different lists because the City website has this list and it doesn't include Kelechi.
The tour squad is:

Richard Wright, Willy Caballero, Joe Hart*, Micah Richards, Dedryck Boyata, Karim Rekik, Gael Clichy, Matija Nastasic, Aleks Kolarov, Jason Denayer, Javi Garcia, Fernando, James Milner*, Jack Rodwell, Jesus Navas, Scott Sinclair, David Silva*, Yaya Toure*, Emyr Huws, Samir Nasri, Stevan Jovetic, Edin Dzeko*, John Guidetti

(* from 24 July)
http://www.mcfc.com/News/Team-news/2014 ... or-US-Tour

Bros, what is the deal? Is he on the squad for the preseason tour or not? The official website makes no mention of him being in the squad yet other smaller sites and blogs mention he will be in the squad. He hasn't played w/the 1st team at all during pre-season.
What gives??? :???: :???: :???:

I don't think he make the squad.

All matches will be covered here on mcfc.co.uk and there will extensive coverage of the US tour throughout the squad’s stay.

How can he join Man City for the preseason tour when he has not even signed a pro contract?

Don't know if this is true or not, but didn't Traore do something similar with Chelsea last Season?

You are right. Pre-season games are considered as "exhibition" games, and don't require a pro contract to participate in.

Kelechi is in the team.. here is an article that confirms this

http://www.espnfc.us/#manchester-city/s ... or-us-tour

Manchester City have announced a strong squad including summer signings Fernando and Willy Caballero for their preseason tour of the U.S.

- Curtis: Manchester City's summer so far

Caballero joined the Premier League champions from Malaga as competition for Joe Hart, while midfielder Fernando moved from Porto for a fee of 15 million euros.

Hart, Samir Nasri, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Stevan Jovetic and Edin Dzeko are also included in the party.

But Argentina's Sergio Aguero, Martin Demichelis, Pablo Zabaleta and Brazil's Fernandinho and Belgium's Vincent Kompany are all on extended breaks following their participation in the World Cup.

Manuel Pellegrini's side will face AC Milan on July 27 in Pittsburgh, Liverpool in New York on July 30 and Olympiakos on Aug. 2 in Minneapolis in the Guinness International Cup. The tournament final will be played on Aug. 4 in Miami.

City have made a mixed start to their preseason preparations in Scotland, losing 2-0 to Dundee and beating Hearts 2-1.

Alvaro Negredo is named as part of City's squad for the trip to the U.S. but is unlikely to travel after announcing he had fractured his metatarsal on Monday.

Full City squad:

Goalkeepers: Joe Hart, Willy Caballero, Richard Wright, Ian Lawlor

Defenders: Micah Richards, Matthias Bossaerts, Jason Denayer, Karim Rekik, Matija Nastasic, Dedryck Boyata, Gael Clichy, Aleksandar Kolarov

Midfielders: Fernando, Samir Nasri, Scott Sinclair, Javi Garcia, Emyr Huws, Jack Rodwell, Bruno Zuculini, James Milner, David Silva, Jesus Navas, Yaya Toure

Forwards: Alvaro Negredo, John Guidetti, Kelechi Ihenacho, Stevan Jovetic, Edin Dzeko

But for the record, I just saw Nacho on TV traveling out with City

PROPS to you and "sultan" for noticing he was on the flight and for posting the pic. It was just confusing seeing as he hadn't participated at all in pre-season and the City site omitted his name from the squad list.
Maybe w/Negredo being injured and the other City stars not getting to the USA until Thursday, Pellegrini figured he might as well bring Kele on board so they could see how he does with the 1st team in pre-season. Kind of like all the other young u-21s getting pre-season playing time at Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, etc.

Wow, should be fantastic to finally see our boy in action again. Hopefully he fits in well with the team and acquits himself well on the pitch while on the tour.

It has shown that he has yet to sign a pro contract.

Man city is been careful not to show his name on there website.

That was also my thought too. That perhaps they let other sites/the media know Kele would make the trip but they couldn't write about it on their website.

Nonsense! he doesn't need a contract to play "exhibition" games. Kind of like when you have celebrity games. It is not considered a "real" game. Kelechi can pay in the pre-season without a contract.
