Wolverhampton Wanderers of England shot –stopper Carl Ikeme has pulled out of Tuesday's 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Egypt in Alexandria as a result of ill health Completesportsnigeria.com can report.

Ikeme who has missed the last two training sessions due to a stomach upset decided not to risk himself for the game, it was gathered.

According to thenff.com, Super Eagles team doctor, Ibrahim Gyaran, confirmed that Ikeme has stomach upset which has kept him out of training since Friday's game in Kaduna.

"After the game last Friday, Carl has been struggling with some stomach upset and it has not allowed him train with the rest of the squad," Gyaran disclosed.

"He is stable but needs a lot of rest to be back in 100% shape for the kind of high profile game that we have on Tuesday. Considering the amount of travel involved as well, it is best we give him a break," Gyaran added.

Meanwhile, Coach Samson Siasia has allayed fears that the absence of the goalkeeper will hamper the team's chances of victory Tuesday's return leg in Alexandria.

"We will surely miss Carl, but the good thing with our team is that we have capable replacements in every department.

"Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa are still here and any one of these two will help us get the job done in Alexandria," Siasia was quoted as saying thenff.com.

OK, this is not very good.

Stay away from Salads you did not prepare at home when in Nigeria (even in 5 star hotels). You can't trust the water they used in preparing it.

I guess it is Akpeyi then.

Ezenwa is always picked as the home based keeper, so I can't complain too much, but I rate Femi Thomas a bit higher.

I trust Siasia. Even when his team was written off in the recent CAF U23 the team won the tournament.

No big deal. We do not lack quality goalkeepers.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. Lol, bit of an odd statement to me when our first choice is a 2nd division player who isn't even a sure starter at his club...

As if this isn't bad enough, CAF just announced that Chad has been removed from the group and that only ONE team will be eligible to progress from the group(since there are now only 3 teams). Egypt now has 4 pts, Nigeria has 2 pts and Tanzania has 1 pt.

Things just went from bad to worse!

TBH, all SE has to do is win. We cannot gripe about one or two players being out. You play those who are there and ready. SE should be ready to go. There are no excuses.

This just brings to fore the gross incompetence of the sorry excuse for a technical committee we have in the NFF.
Whatever happened to Jonathan Ligali of Montpellier? He is eligible to play for Nigeria and has been playing in Ligue 1 for a couple of seasons now. Wouldn't common sense suggest that you work towards capping him and having him as an option for Nigeria? All what those cocksucking Orangutans ever think about is lining up their pockets!

Now we have to rely on some Joe blow playing for some no name team in South Africa for this must win game! I would actually prefer Emmanuel Daniel (U23 keeper) between the pipes for this game, TBH
