Messi looking for his hat-trick.
This game is essentially Messi+10 water carriers vs Sevilla.

Messi's hat trick was actually his luckiest and easiest.
Cruel deflection falls right into his foot.

This Sevilla team have only themselves to blame. They had chances but didnt take them, and when it counted, their defense let them down.

4-2 Barca. Game over!

Why do peeps make such uninformed comments as the above?

What about the defensive performance of Pique; the tireless running of Vidal in 1HF when Barca needed to work hard to match Sevilla's intensity in MF?

Or Busi?

Look at the role of the young Alena on the 3rd goal....

Sure, Messi is special, but he has quite a special team around him...

Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. I think it's time for him to go elsewhere as take up a different challenge. He's been in the cushy comfort of this team his entire career. He's won everything possible whilst playing for Barca, nothing left to accomplish.

Personally if I were him I'd move to a team like Arsenal. Not because I'm an Arsenal fan but because it's the biggest team in the world that's yet to win the champions league. If he can lead them to win it, that'll help cement his legacy.

Ronaldo has played in the Portuguese league, the EPL, the la Liga and now Serie A. The original Ronaldo played on Holland, Italy and Spain also. Same with Zidane who played in France, Italy and Spain.

Barcelona FC brought him & his entire family to Barcelona when Messi was in his preteen; therefore he has no reason to go anywhere else.

Nice to see that Messi is still tormenting you with his magic :rotf:
Don't worry. Messi is already 31. You will be able to breathe a sigh of relief when he retires in 3-5 years...

The difference is that Messi went straight from Argentina to a big club while Zidane and Ronaldo moved from smaller to bigger clubs.

The only exception is Ronaldo's move from Real to Juve, which was due to his disagreement with Florentino Perez. Messi has no problems with the Barca board. They are even talking about giving him a new contract.

Why move to a club like Arsenal at 31, given that Arsenal is currently a club in flux? Ronaldo's move to Juve is more logical in this context because it is a stable club that is just on the verge of taking the big step toward winning the Champions League after winning 7 Serie A titles in a row. Arsenal is not in that position.

Can Arsenal even afford Messi's his salary plus transfer fee, considering the fact that they could not even pay Denis Suarez's transfer fee?

Any club can afford Messi because he pays his own way from the bump in income alone.
But La Liga has the best footie right now!

I thought it was obvious from my post that it's not about the money. He's pretty set financially and Arsenal can afford to pay his wages.

I just think he needs a fresh challenge. At Barcelona he's won everything there is to win multiple times.
