Form is temporary; Class is Permanent!
Liverpool, European Champions 2005.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. We used to think before then that if the other players are better, you have to lose. After that we learned anything is possible – you can beat better teams by using tactics." Jurgen Klopp

Umar Sadiq with a brace so far in a league game for Almeria at the end of halftime. Could have had a hat trick, but he missed a penalty. He may score more before the game ends.

I watched the game, he was electric... It's safe to say Nigeria has the best attack in Africa, we're too stacked in that FWD position right now...if only we could just produce quality defenders and a freaking CAM

Kpom!
Just one really classy CD and just one genuinely creative AM would do us just fine.

Football is funny sha.
Remember a few short years ago when we really didn’t have quality strikers… bringing in veterans like Ameobi and even thinking of bringing back Martins.
Emenike didn’t last long and flattered to deceive in my opinion. Ideye was touch and go and Ighalo had and still has his harsh critics.

Now we are spoilt for choice.
When you have players like Onuachu getting very limited minutes and Simmy, Sadiq and Awoniyi not even making the squad, you know you are blessed.

We are indeed blessed with these generation of quality strikers we've produced... the berth between when we produced truly elite/decent strikers to when we suffered a complete lack of strikers was indeed a very challenging albeit a very interesting dynamic of football fortune... I remember the 2006 SE team that boasted of the likes of Osaze, Nsofor, Yak, Ike Uche,(and his brother), Kanu, Martin's etc, then we were spoiled for options in attack... then after that generation aged, we struggled badly with finding quality strikers, it was almost as if we stopped producing quality FWDs anymore. And as you rightly pointed out, that was the desperate era when we had a serious dearth of strikers that we started depending on old legs like Shola Ameobi, Obafemi, and even at some point we recalled Yakubu from semi-retirement... Ideye and Emenike somehow burst into the scene and we thought they were the best pair after sliced bread and wine (though to be fair, they formed quite a formidable pair during their stint) that pair contributed in winning us our third AFCON title ... and then Emenike and Ideye disappeared as suddenly as they came. Just when we were about to fear for the worse again, Ighalo appeared from the horizon of his prime Watford days and delivered to the best of this ability

Now fast forward to now, strikers are suddenly flooding in like never seen before, even our midfield conundrum which was an eternal headache is only one creative midfielder away from been complete... for now the only shaky department is the defence, and I don't see it been a problem for too long!

Not saying Umar is quality or not, but let us calm down a bit. This is Division 2 football.

When he is doing same against better teams in La Liga, then he can use his electricity to power the whole of Gidi :taunt:

Back a few years ago that penalty would have been given to him.
Basically, he hit the bar, it rebounded onto the back of the beaten goalkeeper and back into the net.
So it was given as an own goal 'in favour' of the GK.

Ovie Ejaria scored a brace for Reading. Hope he gets cleared to play for the SE before Jesus comes back.

Dele-Bashiru also played today. Both Ejaria and Dele-Bashiru are options in AM or CM positions.

I'm surprised nobody is updating?

Anyway Samuel Kalu scored today and Kelechi just scored for Leicester and assisted Lookman's goal.

Both goals were beautiful, but Samuel Kalu's goal was particularly impressive (in fact the whole three goals from Bordeaux were world class)
