African Linesmen are just horrible !!!

Post by vancity eagle »

Already this set of matches I have seen to legit goals denied by phantom offside calls.

Gabon scored a legit goal against Egypt that was called offside, and now South Africa just scored a legit goal vs Ghana that was called offside.

Recall that in our match vs Liberia Alex Iwobi was miles onside and put through for a breakaway that the linesman flagged off.

Also recall the legit goal Musa scored against South Africa that was well onside but declared off by the linesmen.

I have never seen such piss poor officiating to be honest, its like these clowns are just guessing. How can they be so off the mark.

Why are they so piss poor ? Honestly its getting to the point where we will need to bring in linesmen from other confederations. These clowns are an absolute disgrace to the game.

and I dont want to hear any stupid "they are human, humans make mistakes" argument. These guys are just not even paying any attention at all. I dont see these kind of mistakes being made time and time again in other confederations, and I'm talking pre VAR or other confederations that do not even use VAR.

No excuses. Once again the standards in Africa are piss poor.

When we call out the horrible standards of officiating in African football, the naysayers will say we're talking too much... there's a reason why very few African refs officiate games at the highest level of football

...don't they have/use VAR now available everywhere?
Is this not a fifa sanctioned football match?
Oyinbos were making mistakes until VAR stepped in.

Well you can't look at football in isolation when you talk about standards in Africa generally speaking. There is a lot to improve in Africa. The sooner the better!

Africa’s first priority should be drainage on all International football fields, how do you expect nations like Chad and Sierra Leone to use VAR when they don’t even have functioning toilets in their stadiums and the so called giant of Africa doesn’t even have football specific stadium of its own with a decent playing surface?

See self-hating low-esteemed Africans….
Improvement is a constant quest in life, but one only has to read fan forums any weekend to witness vehement complaints in officiating ACROSS THE GLOBE!

The flip side of challenges are OPPORTUNITIES…
Thus if you are that bothered about African officiating, go set up an African Ref school or training program!

You’re Africans, who else are you waiting to come and resolve your issues? Quit bitching and start pitching! SMH

Here we go with lazy criticism. Yes shoot the messenger why don't you. If you ain't got something productive to say just zip it!!! You call self criticism, self-hating? No wonder Africa wallows in mediocrity.

I'm just being a realist and although VAR would be a great assistant in aiding African officiating there's so many other things that could be improved but still haven't been this Century that actually can be that hasn't been.

Yes, that stand-alone entity known as "Africa"...
Because what happens there has nothing to do with AFRICANS (like you are).

Self-hate might be only a part of the issue in your case.
Standing on the sidelines, arms akimbo, accusing others of "mediocrity" is both lazy and obtuse!

You don't think it is too bad that there are too many Africans standing (or sitting) around doing too little (or even absolutely nothing) to take advantage of the too many opportunities to make a positive difference on our continent?
Just a thought.
