Its a long time we have played this well against what should be a tough match. Well done to Egu and the boys.

We watched this very boring video, 500 times, of Sacchi doing defensive drills, using sticks and without the ball, with Maldini, Baresi and Albertini. These guys are playing that they were tired of people questioning their capabilities. Imagine adding Osimhen to this team.

They really haven't been given room to build up play or do much.

I feel our own squad is significantly underestimated by even Nigerians and by even Rohr. I have watched African football long enough by now to know that it will take more than Salah to neutralise us.
Salah is still a deadly beast and he may very well still score, but the other players around him will have to create the space for him.

And players like Chukwueze and Simon are going to be a handful for any team in this competition. So the idea that we are somehow an easy team to play in this competition is laughable. I pity the team that underestimate us.

Yes we fire our coach, but now we have no pressure on how shoulders.
Buhari, whose two terms thankfully ground to a constitutional halt in May. (One thing both democracies have going for them is that their leaders, however bad, have only two terms to swing the wrecking ball.) Under Buhari, growth per head also plunged to 0. An economic agenda drawn from the dusty pages of a 1970s protectionist handbook failed to do the trick. Despite Buhari’s promise to tame terrorism and criminality, violence flourished. Despite his reputation for probity, corruption swirled. FT

Clean tackles. Free flowing game. It looks like Nigeria number in the midfield neutralized the supply to Salah. No supply, no danger. The team was set up well in the first half. I will remove Chukwueze and bring in Ejuke.

So far so good, I might say. These games being what they are, no telling what will happen later, but Egypt is NOT all that.

Haven’t you heard of the wowo brigade?
Bros one step at a time. It is a 90 minute game and a long completion. Make we hopefully bury the Pharaohs first, take care of business in this AFCON.

Then we go aim to start to make that necessary noise.

But it has been a great joy watching Nigeria play with swagger. All of a sudden players who cant string passes are doing the beautiful. I wonder what changed.

Just keep it intelligent Ego and the boys.
God bless and keep Nigeria and make his face shine on her undeserving as she may be.

As does Osimhen.

He seems to be more of a target man though, vs Vic who wants balls played through for him to chase down.

I am impressed. I give it to Egu. He got the formation and tactics right. Let's hope they don't drop off in the 2nd half. Good thing is we can have as much as 4 subs in case someone tires. I see Aribo and Moses tiring.

The main reason why Nigeria has been struggling of late in Africa has NOTHING to do with the players and has everything to do with the negative energy from the coach. Making some of the best players in Africa tremble in fear for what?

We were playing without confidence. THAT was our issue. You think a loss to CAR makes these guys overrated? You would have to be drunk.
