Same here.
why so he can play the same clueless and brainless football he has been playing FOR YEARS.

Hell no.
VE, I hope you are happy about this lineup and won't be wishing death on anybody :tic:
You think so? He will soon complain about the lineup
Complaints loading….

1) Egu’s in-game adjustment sucks
2) local coaches are useless
3) we only beat Ghana by 1-0
It’s our right.

I have already started my complaints.

1) Why didn’t he start with Simon? Unless Simon is not fit.
2) Why didn’t he invite Collins? He is the ideal replacement for Zaidu.
3) Why did Egu accept the job when he knows he has no clue?

What a line up….Sanusi most be injured….Balogun and Bassey play together so should have that understanding already….

3 man Midfield…..thanks Egu for this….

Would have kept Simon for Lookman but hey…we have that option off the bench….

Game depends solely on Etebo….he plays a blinder…we will spell Ghana

Tunisia again. I prefer that Kenya referee or the Ethiopian refree. They are both characters & borderline drama queens but they are good.

Same here.
why, exactly what does he bring to the team
He is not afraid to take on defenders. And he adds pace to our game. Most of the others can be sluggish.

Also, I don’t have to tell you that he is still our most dangerous midfielder.
but he's not unpredictable in his deliveries and he does not bring his team mates into play
all I see in his game is park football, if he brings his mates into the game often he will be more dangerous and give the opponents a lot to think about but right now we all know once he gets the ball he will try to take on players and go for goal
1st minute in the game he tried a rainbow flick with 2 players on him, lost the ball, the ball ended up in our 18, he could have easily passed to his team mate. When we were 1 nil and 1 man down against Tunisia, he played 1-2 with his mates to beat the tunisian defence, dat was a good move he should try often but rarely does and did only when we were desperate for goals, should have been the other way round
If he is benched today he will see how healthy competition can be good for the team

I would have prefered Zaidu but Simon and Kelechi can be jokers off the bench.

He looked pretty fast in the last game.
He's fast enough. The Ghanaian attacker was fast but Bassey didn't lose ground in their foot race.

Is it not risky to start Bassey for the first time in such a crucial game? He was beaten for pace a couple of times in the last game
It appears Sanusi is injured.
That's what I thought based on the last game.

Because he's better than Collins - that's the main reason. We now have 2 solid left backs to choose from. And 2 solid 2Bs in Aina and Ebuehi.

Anyway, good team, I'm more confident. Egu has been listening so hope isn't lost yet.

Ok. I have watched him a few times and he can be a bit rash with his tackles. We will find out how good he is over the next few SE games. I won’t judge him on today’s game only. Today’s game is a pressure cooker.
