The goal that Awoniyi scored against Southampton was impressive because he made and scored the goal. It was his work rate and pressing that forced the error in the Southampton defence, and then he sprinted from inside his own half into Southampton's area to score.

This is why in another thread, I called him a "pain in the a**" for defenders (which I meant as a compliment) as he never leaves them alone.

Come on now, he buzzed around the defender but it wasn’t really his pressure that caused the poor pass. That said he’s always gonna run and work hard, hopefully he gets rewarded with more tap ins. But we already have an even harder working striker who also has more quality to score more than tap ins

"Buzzing around a defender" is called "pressing" in the modern game.

I do not think a highly trained elite professional footballer playing in the Premier League, would have played a horror pass like that if Awoniyi had not unsettled him by charging at him like an angry bull.
