Nottingham Forest: Club agree £20m deal for Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis

Post by Bigpokey24 »

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/62522280

Nottingham Forest have agreed a £20m deal with Watford for striker Emmanuel Dennis.

Forest have been on a massive recruitment drive following promotion to the Premier League.

They are still keen to improve Steve Cooper's squad to ensure the club does not return straight back to the Championship.

The Nigerian scored 10 league goals in 35 appearances for Watford last season.

But he only scored two in his final 17 games as the Hornets were relegated.

He has started both Watford's game so far this term but is yet to find the net.

What is the meaning of this move by N. Forest? Are they not sold on Taiwo? Are they ready to lose their two top strikers to AFCON every January?

Yea, he's young and proved himself last season in the EPL, but Forest also seems to be money miss road..hopefully they stay up.

I feel like Dennis will have a harder time this season. He's not unknown any more so teams will plan for him.

Forest lost their first game against Newcastle and looked disjointed. They play West Ham tomorrow they need something from that game to prevent a dip in team moral.

If they are actively going after all these strrikers this late in the transfer window, they must not have high confidence in Awoniyi.

I agree. He didn't start the first game last week even though he has been with them for practically the entire preseason. I found that strange considering they paid a club record for him. We shall see sha.

They have submitted an offer to sign Neal Maupay from Brighton. Are they planning on playing 4-2-4 formation?

They are going to have a good look at all of them and probably just loan players out.

Awoniyi played very well against the Hammers, but I think the coach likes Surridge too.

Plus there are 5 subs this year and there's the AFCON. It will be very interesting how they manage their players.
