2026 FIFA World Cup qualification: March 2023 – November 2025

Post by Bigpokey24 »

starts March 2023 . When will CAF setup the qualifying format. I like the setup by AFC
from the 3rd round

8 teams which advance from the second round are divided into three groups of six teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches. The top two teams of each group qualify for the World Cup, the third and fourth-placed teams advance to the fourth round.
Fourth round:[note 4] Six third and fourth-placed teams from the third round are divided into two groups of three teams each to play in a single round robin. The winners advance to the World Cup.
Fifth round:[note 4] The group runners-up in the previous round will compete in a play-off tie to determine the Asian representation at the inter-confederation play-offs.

CAF will come up with something useless.

Brainless people.

They still haven't learned after 2006 when they sent 3 garbage teams to the world cup.

Now in 2022 Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Algeria, all miss out due to a useless qualifying system.

I reckon only Senegal and Morocco are among the top 5 teams in Africa going to the world cup.

what if CAF ( with their South African Chairman) chooses to use the regional formats, so Southern African teams can qualify for the worldcup. have yall noticed how all of a sudden Southern African teams are now qualifying for the u17s, u20s, u23s and the women WAFCONS. smh ..

Can they even do such a horrific thing ? Would FIFA allow them ?
