Plateau United coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu has decried the silence of fellow coaches as a factor why they have not been treated well by employers.
Ilechukwu suggested coaches should stop being afraid of standing up for what should be their rights.
He mentioned that coaches often go a long time without salaries being paid because they are afraid of losing their jobs.
The former Heartland FC manager said during his time at club, he was advised to leave the club and write off what he was owed so as to allow peace to reign.

He was also advised not to drag the club to FIFA and was warned that it would affect his career as clubs in Nigeria would not be willing to employ him while as he’ll be tagged “a trouble maker”.
The gaffer said it is part of the reason why Nigerian football has failed to develop, as people who are meant to fight for the welfare of the coach were those advising him to write the debts off.
