Re: Pius Ikedia
My memory of him was when he played at the U20 World Cup in Nigeria back in 99. I think he won an award.
Honestly I would not mind having a winger like him in the SE. His directness and pace will trouble any defense

A Disney certified dancing midget and a world class circus act.
I’ve finally come to the conclusion that 90% of the players we call wingers are just MF who don’t have the football iq, stamina or strength to play in the middle of the park. Truth be told, we’ve probably had less than 5 real wingers in the last 30yrs who actually knew how to play as a winger. Imho, Finidi, Amunike and Victor Moses are the only real wingers, Banbangida and Musa were good enough to occupy the wing spot because they were super fast and scored goals. Other than that, the rest are a bunch of incapable AM who were parked on the wings to take advantage of their offensive capabilities and protect the team from their deficiencies if played in the middle. We need to flip the script and start playing the likes of Onyeka and Aribo on the wings. We won’t get crosses in but at least we’ll win more tackles , 50/50 duels and have a compact MF.

Boniface - oshimen
Why not? It ain’t like the flashy wingers we’re doing much.

Surprised that the ageless 1naija has sustained amnesia on this thread. 1naija and I go way back and even watched Ikedia when Ikedia was still a young boy at Bendel Insurance. Me, I am surprised that 1naija has no memory or poor memory of ikedia. LOL.
In any case, the Ikedia guy was a poor man's, very poor man's, version of JJ. Not only did he go into dribbling circles but he often did not look up while doing so and often dribbled himself into a mob.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

Dude was better than Ahmed Musa. His only issue was his crossing. I think he would actually thrive in todays game

I see what you did there! You know who the senile tribalist is, deep down! Disgusting thing, and a terrible hateful dog.

Re: Pius Ikedia
No he didnt. Tijani Babangida came before him and was successful and respected.
Ikedia's issue was not his skill or speed. Ikedia is the "father" or Musa and Simon. As in, he was brainless. Completely and utterly brainless! Ikedia is a player that any Nigerian football fan should hate, because he is the one who started the whole brainless winger thing with the SE and Nigerians began to accept brainlessness. Ikedia was a player that could receive a pass, he is right in front of the goal and all he had to do was just kick it in. he will refuse. He will turn back and look for 3 opponents gathered in one corner, take the ball to meet them, just so he can attempt to run through them. He was utterly brainless. Tufiakwa!

So you understood the statement and decided to ask a separate question? I know we tell people like Kongi there is nothing like a stupid question to make them feel better when they ask very very stupid question, but don't be deceived, .... THERE IS!!

Re: Pius Ikedia
Senility is no excuse for tribalism. Your brain might be dead, with zero functions, but you can still hate? You can stll privately celebrate the injury of a player because he is yoruba? You can still call for the genocide of a group of people because of their tribe? A mentally ill tribalist, that you will always be before you are shortly put to pasture.

Re: Pius Ikedia
Not a bad player but didn't know when to release the ball. I bet he pissed off his many teammates with that head down, running with the ball and not looking up.
