The success of this Afcon has made this a massive massive game. Is it usually this big or its because we haven't been in the finals for years.

Both are the same anyway, they pass when they feel like and go for the tightest of angles most times.

Slight difference. Moses hugs the wing while Chukwueze is comfortable coming in. He has supplied a few killer passes, the last game to Lookman. Perhaps the thinking is we will need bodies in the midfield.

Simon is a good option off the bench.

D'accord! We will need his energy later to run the wheels off a tiring CIV defense later in the game.

Wha choo looking at?!

Simon will probably play in the 2nd half. The game is also at night. Humidity factor should go down. I expect a good game. Both sides going for it.
Winners do it the right way.

I don't know what's behind the Simon switch. The guy is huge defensively and can create in attack too. But guess Pesseiro and his staff know best

Nigeria has never played the African Cup final badly. From 1980, 1984, 1988, 1990 1994, 2000, 2013. And these were the years when there was no VAR. In the 1988 final, for example, Thomas Nkono was beaten with a clear header and the referee disallowed the goal claiming Henry Nwosu was offside. If the Eagles can replicate that kind of determination, I expect victory.

I really want an Osimhen hattrick here to cement this championship. Having only one goal to his name all tournament doesn't feel right.

It's a number of factors including the world being more connected thanks to social media apps, more African team members having dual roots that helps generate interest from quarters that would not normally be aware or care, and the good job CIV has done hosting a great tournament.

...I'd rather he create goals than break his neck trying to score goals. And he has done so all tournament long creating chances for others.

The orchestral performance brought me goosebumps. Very nice. Tip my hats off to Ivory Coast.
