Peserio as a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON)
How does this play out if the NFF don't and/or Peserio doesn't want to continue the relationship?
Does this award force the NFF in reluctantly retaining him if they were inclined to terminate the relationship despite meeting his contractual terms ?

He got the honor for winning silver at the AFCON. Nothing can change that.

The award has nothing at all to do with his future relationship with the NFF. The NFF is not obligated to rehire him and neither is he obligated to accept an offer from the NFF.
Those Nigerians who were knighted by the former queen of England, did any of them have a formal relationship with the British government or any of its affiliates
Cheers.

You seem to forget the emotional driven decision making style of the various direct, and indirect stakeholders.TonyTheTigerKiller wrote: ↑Wed Feb 14, 2024 6:05 am The award has nothing at all to do with his future relationship with the NFF. But why the 'MON' title? He didn't win the Cup.

It will be very difficult for the NFF to relieve Peseiro at the moment. Take that to the bank.
The guy exceeded the goal that the NFF set for him. The goal was to reach the AFCON semis. Instead, he surpassed that and reached the final! How then do you relieve him?
This is like the problem the NFF had with the Manager of the Falcons who produced at the Women's World Cup.
The only strategy for removing Peseiro at the moment is to lowball contractually and have him leave on his own accord. That way the public will not descend on the NFF. But the NFF has absolutely no basis to relieve him based on performance.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

Why would the NFF even consider relieving him in the first place? We should beg him to stay through the world cup. He earned it. He got Nigeria back on track and only lost in the FINAL of the AFCON to the HOST NATION, and now we've moved up 14 positions to no. 28 on the FIFA ranking. Finidi can use this period to build up his experience and fine tune his own tactics.
