The Phantom Disregard for the Midfield by Nigerian Coaches…
Nigerian coaches, wether local or foreign, have been endlessly berated for their cluelessness with regards to their midfield call ups, with many here insisting that not enough midfielders are invited to the various squads. Well, England recently announced their latest squad which includes 3 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 5 midfielders and 9 forwards in a 25 man squad. Folks, how’s that different from a typical SuperEagles call up? It would appear that many CE fans are severely deluded when it comes to the issue of squad composition

So because England neglects its midfield Nigeria should follow suit? There are really no hard and fast rules to this thing.
Germany officially named only TWO ‘forwards’ in their squad. Two!
Meanwhile they named TWELVE ‘midfielders’.
If na Nigeria, we’d crucify the coach and line the NFF up at Bar Beach.
Just shows it’s all about definitions.
Enugu II has been preaching this for years, dem no gree hear word.

It should be obvious to any logical person that the coach’s style of play and tactics will primarily determine the personnel but some of our arm-chair know-it-alls will have you believe that they understand the requirements of a team better than a professional football coachDamunk wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 8:44 pmNope. Your mental capacity must be really low if you really believe that England who have won the World Cup and are very strong contenders to win it again “neglects its midfield”bret- hart wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 8:38 pmSo because England neglects its midfield Nigeria should follow suit?
