Enugu II wrote: Fri May 10, 2024 2:34 pm For me, Finidi's claim that Nigeria should always be on the front foot, based on its attacking talent, will be tested. He appears to have loads of Nigerians who support him on that analysis. But he needs to be reminded that Peseiro started his job believing the same until some poor results forced him to change that approach and the change led to an AFCON final. Before Peseito, Rohr largely played on the backfoot and accomplished some good results.

Finidi’s claims that Nigeria should play on the front foot shall be challenged. Make no mistake about it. Although, Finidi (if we go by his two exhibitions] has interpreted the frontfoot slightly differently based on personnel. He has used defensive players out wide instead of offensive players. I believe he is doing this to create greater balance, atleast when Nigeria does not have the ball.

The above will surely be tested in the coming months.
We shall see.
Theory and practical.
Playing offensive (attacking) football in crucial World Cup qualifying games? IMO, that would be naive.
Don't know if his tenure will see us reduce our profligacy in front of goal.

The two things I would like to see is to see us cut out any clear-cut chances the opponent has against us while hoping that he will be proactive with his subs.

Open the gates to govt employees, students and supporters club members. Every one else should pay the ticket. The NFF need revenue.
Winners do it the right way.

The first game I think should go to Uyo. The 2nd game will be in Ivory coast.

Govt; employees are already making a lot in " Bribe " money also everyone will suddenly become students with fake id's .
Very hard to police who is legit and who is not.

NFF will "eat" the revenue.

They should reduce all ticket prices by 80%

We need to qualify.

Ekong is back in training. There is a good chance he will be back in a month.
Osayi has a sprained ankle. Usually two weeks. Expected return date is May19th.

Don't trust anything coming out of owngoalnigeria exeot for Simon Moses news.
He should retire from the Super Eagles Asap. No need coming back to mess the name he has already earned in AFCON
You need your captain. Ekong has a lot to offer the team. He will be first on the team list. Even if Ekong is not a starter. He should be in camp. Ekong should be fully fit.

Okay, only allow supporters club and students to enter for free. The state govt can buy tickets and distribute them. The NFF got to make money. I am against any subsidy. No reduction of ticket price. I would rather have the NFF eat the revenue than create a culture of socialism. A soceity expecting freebies. Would rather see an empty stadium than open the gates.

I totally agree with you. Reports suggest that he’s back to full training and hopefully should get some involvement in the last few games of the season.
We need Ekong to lead that team except he’s unavailable

Good squad but Kayode and Adarabioyo are definitely not going to play for Nigeria, they're Italian and English and have declared so for those countries. We move on.

scorenigeria is saying camp will open on June 1st. That is about 4 or 5 days of practice field work before the game on June 7. Ekong is going to have an event in Uyo on June 2nd. The game looks like it is going to be hosted by the Akwa Ibom government. Finidi will have to make the most of the limit time to work with the team. The job of a national team head coach is not easy. The work starts now. Got to start watching film, preparing a game plan and etc. The two match friendlies were valuable.

Nigeria starting 11 will probably be.
Nwabili
Aina, Ekong, Ajayi, Bassey
Onyeka, Ndidi, Iwobi
Boniface, Osimhen, Lookman

Onyedika replaces Onyeka(if he is not fit)

Team chemisrtry should't be a problem. Hopefully they don't eat a lot during their brief break. It should be 100 percent effort. None of that playing lackluster football.

Boniface is not a wing forward. We shouldn't put players in unfamiliar positions and expect to win games. If he's not the no 9 the only position to play him is a free role with no defensive responsibilities behind osihmen. Boniface doesn't have the stamina of a wing forward.

If Ideye Brown can combine with Emenike. Boniface can combine with Osimhen. Not an out an out winger but can play off Osimhen.
