Get Michael Kayode now
Go after him with everything we have. I know he already played for the Italian u20 team but that was back in 2023. I’m watching him vs Arsenal, it’s obvious he’s a massive talent with big time speed and a high work rate. He plays RB, LB and RMF, would be a tremendous addition to SE depth if we can get him at just 20yrs old. Italians would put up a fuss but not in their plans for now. Imagine a FB depth of Aina, Kayode and Agu ; impressive if we can be more purposeful in our approach and planning.

Dude flat out shut out Martinelli . Kayode plays, moves and thinks like a Nigerian footballer. His size, speed, determination and never say die attitude are purely Nigerian. I hope his advisers don’t brainwash him into a getting 2 Italian caps and nothing after, he’s pure a Nigerian player.

This is the important question.
Re: Get Michael Kayode now
He hasn’t played for the senior team. Maybe Chelle can convince him?
I know this current NFF cannot do anything meaningful they make Amanju look like a genius

Of course everything with a Nigerian name in the EPL is good for SE. Have you checked the NPFL?EMIR KONGI JAFFI JOFFA wrote: ↑Sat Apr 12, 2025 6:49 pm Go after him with everything we have. Onikan, Leave stone chop rice. Ismael Sodiq, a useless RB in the Npfl has 3 caps ,we all saw how useless he was to SE. Kayode is levels above him already. If you know of a RB in the NPFL that’s better than Kayode, kindly disclose his name or forever hold your peace. When do you intend to develop your own Micheal Kayode?

Re: Get Michael Kayode now
I was thinking about this. We need to start developing players who will replenish the SE. These short term format we've been using is why we are where we are today.
I hope the u20 qualifies for the world

Re: Get Michael Kayode now
I tire for some Nigerian. 0 upstairs. We can develop Kayode here and still get another Kayode from overseas if we are a serious football nation. They are both Nigerians. The same morons talking about getting a michael Kayode born in Nigeria have no solutions in terms of fixing the NPFL and grassroots football. Just opening their dirty smelly mouth for the sake of it.vancity eagle wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 6:16 pmAs if chewing gum and walking cannot be done simultaneously.
Go look how many Senegalese born talents are being produced, and they are still going after foreign born.

Re: Get Michael Kayode now
Despite all these foreign coaches and players in our teams, our teams are still rubbish. Heck, we can't even qualify for U17 boys. Our fundamental are flawed. That is the truth. Invest in grassroots and curtail corruption, you will see our football flourish. Right now, we are in a rut
Re: Get Michael Kayode now
While my opinion is that we should focus on developing talent in Nigeria (that is where we have the numbers), I do not understand why some people behave as if the foreign born Nigerians are less Nigerian.

We went into a vital 2 match WCQ series last month, and the criminals were smuggling Papa Mama Daniels into the squad.
It became an issue that Chelle did not trust his bench.

Re: Get Michael Kayode now
Interesting fact:
A brief look through Wikipedia seems to show that most of the locally-born players called up to the SE in recent times never represented Nigeria at youth level.
Those that did: 10, including U23s if the Olympic team can be considered a ‘youth’ team.
Ndidi
Moses Simon
Ogbu
Osimhen
Ejuke
Chukwueze
Iheanacho
Awoniyi
***
Sadiq (u23)
Ndah (u23)
***
Those that did not: 14.
Nwabali
Onyeamachi
Onyeka
Obasogie
Onyedika
Olawoyin
Onuachu
Arokodare (I thought he did but can’t find proof)
Boniface
Awaziem
Moffi
Yusuf
Iwobi
Bankole
So there’s a high drop-out rate from our national youth squads.
Very similar to stats all over the world. I even suspect our drop out rate is a little lower than most.

Is Eguavoen foreign? Under him we lost to Rwanda at home? Is Finidi foreign? Under him we lost to Benin for the 1st time in our history. Is Bosso Foreign? Is Saisu Foreign??? Just shut up if you have nothing intelligent to contribute.highbury wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 6:49 pm Despite all these foreign coaches and players in our teams, our teams are still rubbish. Re: Get Michael Kayode now
Boniface played youth football, he was benched by Osimhen in one of the U17 tournaments, in the U20 Afcon, he had a serious injury and couldn't take part.Damunk wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 7:24 pm Interesting fact:

Re: Get Michael Kayode now
I remember watching the under 17 afcon last edition golden eaglet coached by ugbade. They had one very sharp winger. Where is he now. How about u20 quarter finalist where are those boys at least one should have graduated into senior team.
That u 20 team that beat Argentina will win bafana or many African teams
Aghahowa was drafted in SE straight from u20 those boys play with hunger something super Eagles midfield is missing.
However I think that Micheal Kay ode is a top talent he basically changed the game for brentford against Arsenal yesterday

Re: Get Michael Kayode now
It is not limited to national youth squads though. It is about building a system that optimises local talent, whether such talent goes through the national youth teams or not. Then the foreign based can be an effective complement.Damunk wrote: ↑Sun Apr 13, 2025 7:24 pm Interesting fact:

Corruption is Nigeria’s cancer, and like you rightly say, and we all know, the cancer is killing us.
But cancer treatment is long, expensive and painful.
Regardless, the sufferer still has to live, work, eat, look after family, even go to work.
It’s not as if we are going to suspend Nigerian football till further notice until we find a cure.
Treating cancer is not about simply writing a prescription. Neither is treating Nigerian corruption.
The core of our national cancer is not foreign. It is local: the admin, the coaches, the clubs, the refs, even the players.
So in the meantime, can we do what we have to do for Nigerian football while we figure out and battle with how to treat this metastatic cancer?
This your fight against foreign born Nigerians and foreigners is totally missing the point.
It’s kind of like how Trump is throwing stupid tariffs on everything foreign overnight, thinking he is protecting American manufacturing, whereas he’s killing it including his farmers.
Your Nigerian patient will die while you are banning foreign-made anti-cancer drugs. Nigerian football will not be able to complete on the African stage. Don’t even mention the world stage.
We can at least agree that none of us want that.
