MOTM for me was LB Odinaka Okoro (Sporting Lagos) who assisted the goal but Auwal (Akwa United) did very well scoring the goal

...these U20 local based players are auditioning hence the good performances.
This is why I advocate to use them for afcon qualifiers.
There are plenty of them, if one plays well and get's snapped up by foreign agents, replace him by another home based, this enhances development, and turn around.
Those foreign based players we rush into African qualifiers are not auditioning for anyone, they got "jobs" already, and lucrative ones too at Nigerian standard.
Plus the hot and humid atmosphere of Africa is never conducive for them to play well for 90 mins. My my recent visit is a testament.

you have a point that there are numerous talented players in Nigeria and it will continue to be like that into the foreseeable future. However, you seem to advocate that the reason these players should be a given a chance is for them to get a job elsewhere. Is that correct? If it is, then any NT (Including Nigeria) that focuses on being a farm team for overseas jobs is BOUND TO FAIL.
The difficulties of statistical thinking describes a puzzling limitation of our mind: our excessive confidence in what we believe we know, and our apparent inability to acknowledge the full extent of our ignorance and the uncertainty of the world we live in. We are prone to overestimate how much we understand about the world and to underestimate the role of chance in events -- Daniel Kahneman (2011), Winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics

Yes I truly and sincerely advocate for them be given the full opportunity to play African qualifiers. They are attuned to the hot humid weather especially too.
Btw, not only Nigerian NT, all national team players around the world do audition while playing for their national teams to be seen by foreign scouts notably European scouts.
