Has fifa chosen a goalie and team of the tournament alraedy? I think Vanzekin will prolly win but then again i watched more of his games. The brazillian goalie was pretty good to but i pick Vanz over all dem. Also in the have a team of the tournament we should have at least 4 players in it. Obi, TT,Vanzekin and ogbuche

Obi, Vanzekin and Taiwo would make my all tourney team. Not sure Ogbuke can be there because there were more productive strikers.

Disappointment of the tourney: Solomon Okoronkwo. That dude failed to live up to 25% of his billing and explains why we struggled to score. He was supposed to be our big reliable finisher and ended up being a bench warmer seeing less than 5mins per game... suffice to say he did not score 1 goal in 7 games.. he was a very big disappointment and ended up being dead weight.

Vanzenkin had a strong tournament but I bet FIFA will never name him keeper of the tournament.

How many penalties did he save? That guy was good. Argentina must have studied him well.

If I were voting it would be him but when it comes to goalies FIFA does not seem to respect Africans. I think he saved 3 penalties.

Adu wins the under performer award hands down. Actually I was a bit surprised Daddy Bazuaye did not play more.

It should be Vanzekin, the guy is a character. Did anyone see how he was calming his teammates down before the first penalty spotkick as if he was very confident of saving it. The ref had to order him to his line. After the second penalty call, don't know what he did but he got a yellow card from the ref. He must have said something or displayed some deviant behaviour. I really like that dude, he's a class act. Had some scary scenes though when coming off his line.

Van is my pick. No doubt and it doesn't have anything to do with him being Nigerian

One thing Vanzekin needs to work on though is his judgement when coming off his line. I just hope he gets signed up by a major European club that will work on this with him.

In the final against Argentina, too often he came out and was caught in no man's land, not knowing what to do. He needs a goalkeeping coach like Peter Schmiechel who will teach him that when you come out like that, you send the bal into Row Z.

Vanazekin has potential but needs to be polished pretty soon. Too often, we have seen promising young Nigerian goalkeepers like Lemmy Isah, Andrew Aikhamogbe, Emeka Amadi, Angus Ikeji and Akpan Bassey emerge, only to fall by the wayside very quickly.

Vanzenkin is as polished as I have seen any young goalie in a while. Throughout the tournament he showed excelllent judgemnent. In the final he made a couple of mistakes when he came off the line but I attribute that to nerves of playing in the final. I trust you to focus on that though. Bobo needs exposure and consistent playing time in a good league.

Ayo, everyone in life need to get better not only Vanazekin.

However, your belief that one has to move to Europe to get better is misplaced. Europe does not necessarily translate to success. The reason people move to Europe is not to get better but to make more money.

All the young goalies that went to Man U, what happen to all of them? So fallen by the wayside of the likes of Lemmy Isah etc is not just because they did not move to Europe. We need to start to see some good, irrespective of how little, in ourselves.

i would choose bourkardi or whatever he is called, the moroccan goalie. he played a great tournament and even when it comes to saved penalties, no one fits to hold a candle to him.
vanzekien was great, too, though

Messi sold him with his eyes, when he was making his run up he never looked at the ball but at Ambrose and only picked his spot once Anbrose had chosen which side to dive to

Maroc keeper for me.

Pure class, and I'm sure we'll hear more from him shortly.

You can hate Messi, but those PK's were too clinical. The bobo never looked at the ball... just looked at the goalie for early movement... I could have sworn that for the first PK, Messi made a decision a split second after noticing there the goalie went - which explains why the PK was soooooo weak.... but very smartly & perfectly executed.... the second PK was similar as well.

The Moroccan goalie does not deserve it. Did you see how he fumbled against Brasil? Goalies are judged by the number of errors that led to goals that they commited. For Vansekin, there was no error at all.As result of that, he deserves being called the goalies of the tournament.

Did you see the blunder he committed against Brazil in the 3rd place match? Some people will do anything to discredit Nigerians.
Vanzekin all the way...won the best goalkeeper award in the tournament.
