The #, Ofori appears to be a Ghananian name.

Can easily pass for a Nigerian last or first name as well (foastal area of Delta State or Rivers). But you may be right about it being Ghanaian.
What do you know - in 10-15 years majority of the USA national team will be second or third generation "African" Americans. Mister Dolly's first son has already pledged his allegiance to the red, white and blue.

Agree that is why Adu is not on this team. It doesn't help his development to 'drop down' to U-17 level after playing U-20. The same applies to Argentina's 17 year star in the making Sergio Aguero, who was a reserve on their U-20 World Cup champions but did not play on Argentina's U-17 team which surprisingly failed to make it to Peru.
Say didn't someone post an article on Amaechi Igwe several months back? I seem to recall his entire family, including his older sister, are active players in the US and their father once was a top player in Nigeria.

Freddy has better things to do, like honing his craft in preparation for the senior US National Team.
Some of you here slang American football, but you will see in 5 - 10 years when we challenge for the WC. The MLS is getting better and better all the time, selecting from a seriously large and gifted talent pool.
Last week I went to see UC Berkely play Cal State North Ridge. I couldn't believe how the American college game has improved. Both teams consistently held the ball in the back and the midfield for 10 passes or so. There was horizontal and backward passing, which contrasts sharply to the run and kick British style game that characterized college football in the 80s.
Even better is the level of club and high school football. Many of the best kids are directly going into Project 40, playing for 1 of 3 professional leagues: MLS, A-League, or USISL. Let's not mention that every city has a semi-professional league.
Consider also that the US has black, white, hispanic, asian, arab players. Couple this with state of the art fitness and training and typical American sports discipline and fighting spirit and you have the makings of a powerhouse.
Freddy Adu will do fine. There are many more who will stand beside him as Team USA starts to challenge the world.
You will all see.
Cheers, Mate

He is still a bit tender for the seniors....After 2006....If he indeed shows up, he should come in as a replacement, only when the game is not too tough to handle.......
