You are not very well informed. Spoken words of defamation are known as slander. Also Miriam Webster defines libel as "a written or oral defamatory statement or representation that conveys an unjustly unfavorable impression" and you can be sued for either or both

Fact is that allegations of corruption are so easy to make. Afterall, folks like OBA LOKO forget that only one CE has actually publicly intimated that a certain Bryan Robson would give him a cut of all friendlies arranged during his tenure as Eagles' coach.
