I'm not sure. The statement released by the Trailblazers was weird. He is unhappy at some things. Will find out more today.
Maybe the Insurance issue like Player mentioned earlier may have been the problem? All in all, not good.

Insurance is a mere $15,000 I believe. I think there is more to it.

Organizational issues quoted in the statement and insurance issues (mentioned in rumours). Putting 1+1 together, I'm guessing the Nigerian Ministry of Sports asked players to pay insurance out of pocket.

@F360, sorry i'm not in Houston, the coverage is by one of my friends based in the States. Wish I could be there though but too many things going on.

As for Al Farouq, definitely insurance was an issue but I also have a feeling that there were some character issues from what i've heard over the years.

NIG 30 vs 54 USA.

We had zero 3 pointers vs 6 by USA. Definitely an area to work on.

I am impressed by Team Nigeria without Aminu and Ezeli.

Either our shooting is poor or the USA defending is superb.

I think our rebounding is ok but shooting is poor. Absolutely, no perimeter threat! Also, we are too small. Cousins bullied us in the 1st quarter. If only we had Ezeli as an additional body.

Gulf in class was evident.

The USA defending IS superb...whenever they decide to turn it on during a game.
Plus Nigeria's shooting was very poor. The shots just weren't falling until Champ got on a roll at the end.

Caught up with the team earlier today before they left for Brazil tonight. Also got to talk to Tijani Umar about Victor Oladipo, Al-Farouq and Festus. (I forgot to ask about Jahlil Okafor).

Festus hung out with the team yesterday and Al-Farouq was with the team today before they left for Rio and he went back to Portland.

The Al-Farouq situation is still very confusing but from what that one was definitely more than about insurance.

More to come.
