So far we learn from this experience, it can only get better.

Its not easy to beat a team twice. The 1st time around, Lithuania probably did not know much about team Naija. They had an opportunity to go back and study video and came ready with a game plan. If the Naija coach tried to use the same tactics as last time and did not have a plan B then the result was going to be bad because this time around Lithuania were bound to have come up with a plan to confront Naija's game plan.

I don't care what team or country you come from, whose your coach or who plays for you, 25.5% from the field is NOT acceptable in ANY league, place or team.

FG % was poor, they need to work on their shouting, we even had more offensive rebounds

Its all a learning experience, no point changing the team or Coach if we still have the same structure....The thing that I'm scared about is the Nigeria I know will still have the same structure.... :(

Things just didnt go our way, we had good looks but couldnt buy a shot, Dagunduro who is usually the game changer did even get minutes, hope he is not injured.

man I just got back from the game..... I was bloody surrounded by Lithuanians no black face for miles... fortunately the Britico's helped cheer us on... I began to realise that these guys must have bought bulk tickets because they had whole sections with lithuania in it. As for the game we really suck at 3-pointers, at one point we were 1/12. We also wasted a lot of free throws... mind you when I watched the Britain v Brazil game they were almost equally as bad with the 3-pointers.

don't mind them.... considering how long the team was formed they actually did okay,
its like it must be a God given right for Nigeria to win games even though this team is
vertually new against teams who have properly run basketball federation and basketball
league. Lithuania are no jokes, we should give credit to the boys... hopefully we do
well enough to get proper attention that was previously lacking from the authorities.

Now to watch us get slaughtered by the US of A...

Sad that we lost. Congrats to the guys for giving their best. That's all we asked for.

For those who wanted the team dismantled before the Olympics, you can only use players who desire to play for you. You go to battle with committed and willing guys.

For those asking for the sack of the coach, all the best as you get your messiah coach who will ensure that you beat USA in the next match.

Reading some of the comments here, I can understand why some will not want to represent Nigeria. Fans that Will not be there to cheer nor encourage the team but will be the first to call the players useless.

Thank you guys for representing us. On to the next match. Better luck next time. Again, just do your best and leave the rest.

yeah I was suprised not to see him on the field.... considering he gave us the impetus to win in our last game, skin needs to work on his 3-pointer game in future, but right now I think he shouldn't force it....

As for the seating I suspect a large number of those seats were for GB supporters who did not show up, the place was packed full in the second game Brazil and Great Britain.

Again glad i no be fan of this sissifed sports played by men, with long flailing arms like desperate housewives on tv fighting cat fight.

Went on to watch england or is it britain beat brazil. Beautiful, and nice to watch lovely women playing football.

Nothing lovely about them women. Biggest disappointment were the Brazillians. They sucked in football and in the looks department. :taunt:

I am disappointed with Nigerian fans. Honestly y'all should stick to football before you damage the basketball team the way you have damaged the soccer one.

The fans are the problem of Naija football. :taunt:

This is a game we needed to win to have any hopes of making it to the next round.

It's only with naija that white folks are better in basketball than black folks

Really Player???? I disagree with you. We talked about how to improve this team and ppl were saying no need, go with what u have and if u get gbenshed, u get gbenshed. Now those same ppl r here either complainign or laughing at the team.

If we r going to go to a tournament and compete then u go with ur best. If ur best say no then u prepare with what u have....we did not do either. We have a bunch of unprepared not so good players. Bad combo.

Good luck to the guys the rest of the way.
I'm here and I'm not laughing. Lose or win these guys deserve to take part in the Olympics. You keep saying you go with your best yet the guys you have mentioned have not proven anything on the world stage (some haven't even proven anything on pro level)! I don't think "a bunch of unprepared not so good players" would have made the Olympics by beating the same team named Lithuania who is the #5 in the world and Greece who is #4 in the world and only lost by a point to Russia, all ranked ahead of us. These countries are world powers in basket ball!! Some of the things you guys say man!

Evidently we had many shot attempts but they weren't made. 40% of those shots would have won us the game if we had converted them. You live by the shots you die by the shot and that's what killed us today. Evidently, our defense is off the chain!! I didn't watch the game but from stats we are a very good defensive team. Our coach must find ways for us to score points. We are still in this tournament people!
