we have a problem, with the way countries now poach athletes it will be very difficult to produce a better team that
what we have if we continue to have the useless authorities running our country. It is heading to a situation where
talented Nigerians who have potential to get medals , end up representing the country where they learnt their trade
or earn living, while Nigeria has to make do with our domestic talent , starved of support, starved of professionalism,
and continuously thrown obstacles that will demotivate and deter them from getting the best of their talents.

This simply does not happen as much as you would think. Name 10 medal-winning Nigerians that have represented other countries.

Stop chatting crap, 63% in 3-point shooting, 70% field goals, and you say they were not running up the score. Please, they wanted to humiliate us and send a message to the other teams.

They were running up the score until maybe the 4th quarter with about 5 minutes to go. In basketball, you take what the defense gives you. Even Kevin Love post-game said that he was surprised at how the Nigerian players were sagging off of them at the 3-point line. This wasn't an inevitable result. Nigeria could have done a lot more to make the scoreline a bit more respectable than an 83-point blowout. 83 points.

What is equally baffling and depressing is the way some of our brothers on the forum were celebrating the loss as if it was an honour to have been disgraced. I could not even watch any of the sports programmes on the telly yesterday.

The US no get shame, Nigeria is just starting out, and they had to score 158 points on us. I will remember, and I hope most Nigerians remember how a big bully the US are. We need to schedule a friendly against them in football, and gather our full strenght. I am a fan of the Spanish team, I hope they can beat the US.

Seriously they need to change the format to U23. The US have an unfair advantage, their league is more advanced than most countries, and they have been playing the sports longer than any country. It should be an age grade competition, enough of the NBA players nonsense. I am now a supporter of Spain for the rest of the tournament. Can't support the Yanks, a bunch of classeless, uncultured, balco drug cheats. They accuse other countries of cheating, when they are the worst culprits, we can talk about Flo Jo and lewis. The Olympic committee should scrap that Flo Jo record, tainted , bunch of cheats. There is a lot of folks that don't like Americans , and going by the people I interact with, I think they are aware of that fact themselves.

...look at the big picture, the yanks own the IOC, the UN, and anything they can dominate they set the rules.
If the rest of world can get 6 to 7 foot 300 pounders, they will force american football into the olympics.
