As far as sports are concerned at these games, they invested the most money in their cycling and rowing programs. Considering that there are 32 gold medals up for grabs in both sports combined, it's not exactly the worst idea.

They been consistent and improving in those events over the last 2 Olympics.

South Africas budget in rowing was 17 times less than Great britains according to the commentators. Now i wish and hope RSA increases funding in rowing to take those medals from the Brits in the next Olympics
