Pure robbery, that norwegian ref needs to be investigated. The Canadians played the game in good spirits while the americans just kept hacking with the backing of the referee. There was a time the american defender went down in their box, but they continued to attack, when Canada won possession, they started screaming for the ball to be played out and Sophie Smidth played it out WTF! The lead up to the third american goal was orchestrated by the ref. All in all, well done to the girls, here's hoping Japan beats these americans silly in the final.

US vs Canada
All these ladies are great and deserve praise. But women's soccer cannot realize its potential until the officiating is more qualitative. The referee decisively changed this game twice. She awarded the US a free kick for alleged time wasting by the Canadian goalie. Then she called a penalty for inadvertent contact when arms were not extended on the ensuring free kick.
A judicious official would have stopped play and issued a direct and clear warning about time wasting. Only if the Canada goalie was subsequently defiant and egregious should the official resort to a whistle and even issue a yellow card.
Unfortunately, the official decided she is going to impact the match more so than the players. This kind of weak officiating hurts the credibility and mass appeal of the women's game in my opinion.
