Where is the mighty Nigeria?
Should we lobby the Olympic committee to bring back Polo so Nigeria can win a medal?

Kwenda huko! Y'all stole our Kalenjin (Cheptegat) and seem bent on overworking the poor soul. You fielded him in 5K and 10k races. We also know he will be run the marathon. Shame on U.G!

As for Naija, I think they lack the resources to train their athletes. Methinks they should concentrate on easy sports like rowing, archery, shooting, table tennis and fencing etc.

We can't even register one of our best athletes for the 100m. But hey! We dress with style!

Ever since Idi Amin left, Kenya has been stealing our brothers from Kapchorwa. M7 is planning to build a high-performance center up in Kapchorwa District that will be a game changer.

The Naija situation is baffling. How can a big populous country fail to produce Olympic medalists? It's a damn shame.

Is it Ofili? I think she refused to pay a "participation fee" to the NOC.Mr. Piffington wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 5:55 amWe can't even register one of our best athletes for the 100m. But hey! We dress with style!

How else can you explain her being left out for two consecutive Olympics?
Is it too late for her to switch countries?

I thought they only pay the participation fee when it comes to the Eagles (they added Super)- To me, they are still the Green Eagles.Kabalega wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 1:28 pmIs it Ofili? Uganda's first medal was a Luo guy (David Akii Bua)- Even Amin drew the line when he met a champion. I know Idi decimated the Acholis and Langis.Kabalega wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 1:20 pmCheptegat loves to run.Field Marshall Ogolo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 3:04 am

TOUCH NOT MY ANOINTED...
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding...hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe

Thanks for the correction! I actually saw him in action as a very young kid during the late 70's. That's the year the late Henry Rono broke 4 world records in a period of 90 days. At the event, there was a very diminutive Ethiopian runner known as Miruts Yifter who had a devasting kick in the 10,000 meters. He looked at least 45 at the time I saw him run. I later learned that he won gold in Moscow Olympics a year or two later!anointed wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 4:21 pmJohnField Marshall Ogolo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 3:55 pmUganda's first medal was a Luo guy (David Akii Bua)- Even Amin drew the line when he met a champion. Rafiki, Idi Amin supported sports, especially boxing. Remember he was a boxer. And those guys routinely won medals. Unfortunately, now 2-3 boxing bodies are running the sport and cannot agree on which boxers to send to the Olympics.Field Marshall Ogolo wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 6:33 pmYou must be one of those who think the wrestler Kamala the Ugandan giant was real. Truth is, there was no medal. Kenya usually hauls more medals than the rest of Africa combined during Olympics. Naija is the weakest link in Sub-Sahara. Imagine now even Kenya has fastest sprinters on the continent (Omanyala 9.77secs)- We can't do it all. Once Cheptagat retires and our Kalenjins troop back to Kenya, there will be no medal in that country for a while. Unless you convince the Luos to do 400m hurdles. We can't handle anything longer than 800m. Did you see our basketball team from South Sudan?Kabalega wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 6:13 pmI'm not so sure Akii Bua was the first medal.
